Well I've just tried the demo and this looks bloody awesome! The only problem was getting my PS2 pad to work with it. Has anyone got the full game and using it successfully with a PS2 pad?

I had the full game, before giving it to my cousin becuase i'd finished with it. I used a Rumblepad Wireless 2, and it was fine. Maybe the demo has limited support?

Its a very good game, although I prefer racers such as GTR2 and Race WTCC. If your a rally fan though it is truly awesome.

What about Richard Burns Rally and Colin McRae 5 (PC versions)? I like the look of both these games, but which one has the better gfx, sound, career options (proper career options, not just win a race, unlock the next one because I HATE that), bumps 'n bashes (potholes etc)? I've heard there are problems mapping the buttons to your liking in Richard Burns Rally, has anyone had that problem and if so, how did you solve it?

Does CMR5 have dynamic weather and changing surfaces like Richard Burns does?

i have Richard burns rally.. but i wouldn't know whats it like on a gamepad. as i use it with a top-of-the-line racing wheel... its GFX are superb to say the least and it has a great career mode.. but its a simulation in every aspect... can be very difficult... not a just "pedal to the metal.. don't slow for corners just bash thru". if you do that.. = death....

RBR over CMR5 any day, RBR is slightly older but it's a rally sim through and through and you'll get the most realistic feel from it.

From my little experience of RBR, it is very very tough. Slightest mistake, you're going to have a very damaged car. You need to put in so much effort to be good at it. Colin McRae: Dirt couldn't be much more different to be honest.

Made of the PC first, as it was released before the PS3 was readily available. I have one too, although the G25 isn't top of the line out of all the wheels, it is out othe normal retail stuff you can buy in a shop though.

Jealous!! You both deserve slaps for having better equipment than me.

To answer a question I missed MasterBlaster, I don't believe CM Dirt has changable weather, certainly don't recall coming across it in my experiences. Can't remember with RBR as I haven't played it very much.

i meant top of the line.. in a retail perspective.. the OTT setups with the seat and crap is just ridiculous. it is still 300$ US... almost 3 times as much as a mid-range wheel... :cool:

i can change them with the G25... although i haven't used a gamepad with it. (don't need to obv.). i have noticed when i change the keys for the keyboard they don't stay the same next time i start the game.. and i would have to set them again....

That's good, if you can change the mappings with one type of controller, you can probably do it with all of them.

Just got Richard Burns Rally today and I have to say it is worthy of the man himself, I love it! The handling just seems far more what you'd expect from a rallying car than DiRT. Don't get me wrong, I love DiRT too, but I only paid a fiver for this game and it has dynamic weather/surfaces as well as a proper career mode. Also, considering it's age, the GFX don't look too shabby either!
The rally school mode is great and it's fun as well. It's sort of poignant hearing Richard Burns voice coaching you, for me especially, as my dad was taken in the same way that Richard Burns was (cancer). This game is a very fitting tribute to his memory.

I'm pretty sure it'll come out on PC, it bloody better!!!

Anyway, for those out there who haven't got it and want a realistic rallying game for £5, grab Richard Burns Rally! I've got my PS2 pad working with it as well!
