Okay, PC Gaming with Keyboards is pathetic!

Yeah, I agree. I cant stand the weird looking, buttons everywhere, humongus controllers!

I have chosen to buy a PS2 USB adapter, thanks people!

Xbox 360 controllers have 'A', 'X', 'Y' and 'B' buttons, which are the most used in games, which are the equivalent of the 'X', 'O', Triangle and Square buttons on the PlayStation 2. So, if you are used to the PS2, you should easily get the hang of Xbox 360. I did.

Umm, I assume that the 360 control is like the normal Xbox control and if so then I dont think I like it:p

I quite prefer using keyboard. Although I have a Genius Steering wheel with vibrations, foot pedals, Nostromo N52 dualshock, joytick and all that :p. Still I feel more comfortable with a $1 Keyboard and a decent mouse.

 Dont be serious?! Even on games like GTA and C07? Or any other sport game?

On Cricket 07, I wouldn't dream of using a controller. It feels so much more natural on the keyboard.

Well, after many years of playing my PS2 and enjoying games such as San Andreas, Cricket 04, NBA Live, Tiger Woods, Pro Evolution Soccer etc.
I think it's time I start playing PC games. They have better graphics and mods are too good to resist (particularly GTA, PES, C07 and NBA).

But the problem is that I hate using the keyboad for games like GTA and PES! It's damn near impossible!

So I need some sort of controller I think. Now, I dont have a clue what type of controllers you can get, what they cost and what they look like. So this is where I need help.

If you can help, please do so! I need to wake up, and stop using that pathetic keyboard:eek:

I play GTA with mouse/keyboard combination and I find it far easier than with any lousy gamepad. Have you tried using the mouse and keys?

The only games I use joypads on are football games and that's just common sense.

You get use to it, GTA is easy as to use on keyboard. Cricket 07 the same, some of the Rugby games are a bit harder when you want to sidestep but I've gone just fine. I brought myself a logitech dual shock controller now so that should help with Rugby 08.

I am new to playing computer games on the computer, so using the keyboard for sprinting and especially driving seems very weird to me.

When playing GTA do you use the keyboard to do everything? Or the mouse to steer, drive and shoot?

Mouse would be way too sensitive to steer, I just used the default options so the keyboard was used to drive. Shooting obviously with the mouse just like any FPS game.

Keyboard for driving, mouse for shooting.

Nah, I find you have to have freakishly deformed hands to use an xbox controller.

An Xbox controller yes, but not a 360 controller. Theres a difference ;)

There is a big difference in size between the 2 controllers. The 360 controller is one of the best console controllers ever. Fantastic layout, doesnt get sweaty with prollonged use, great button positioning, its a fantastic controller.

You are almost spot on, but if I use (or used, since it now has the 'ring of death') my Xbox 360 for any more than half an hour at a time it becomes really sweaty and it slips out of my hands sometimes.
