Consistency & Gautam Gambhir

He was certainly the most deserving player to receive the test player of the year and i am hapy that icc made a good decision to give him that award

One thing with Gambhir is, he is good against short pitched deliveries and can handle them in trying conditions of Australia, SA, NZ, etc. Also he is brilliant against spin and plays the likes of Murali with a ease that others find it tough to achieve. Only thing Gambhir needs to improve upon is his mind reflexes. When he is in a run out situation, his brain sometimes freezes and he gets run out pretty easily (without making the attempt to recover). Similar thing happens while he fields at forward short leg in test matches. He doesnt react quite quickly and misses opportunities/gives away runs.

Always rated him since he dominated us last year. Hes a player that is a big match player, he was out of form during the Champions Trophy but once he came to playing Australia hes back in full flight. Hes consistent, hard to get out and aggressive. Not much more you can ask for really.

He didn't make an effort to run back to the crease else it looked like he would have driven India to the target score of 305 in 20 mins (if anybody noticed his facial expressions, he looked like somebody had pissed him off that day, even lashed out against a fan on his way back to the pavillion). After that, the match with Australia got absorbed in rain so he didn't get to bat and vs W.I. he got out for a low score but he may have performed better if India still had a chance to reach the semis.

He is a very good player for all hte formats, and he was very consistent for last 12-15 months, but recent CT, and ongoing Aus series he hasent scored the runs as expeted, but definately he will contribute soon, he is a good player no doubt....

He has been the best player of the series so far (against Australia). 68 and 74 in two innings arent enough?

He only played three matches in the Champions Trophy, and he looked set for a 100 against Pakistan before getting himself run out. He didn't to too well in the other games, but he didn't perform badly as you guys are making it out to be.

As for the current series, that guy is obviously just pulling ████ from his ass. Clearly he hasn't been watching the series.

One thing that he needs to improve on is to carry his starts onto something bigger, especially coming at opener/one-down. Having someone like Sachin to learn from, he probably will also develop that skill. He's shown it in the Test side, that he can carry his starts, now he just has to do it on a more consistent basis in ODI's.

Gautam Gambhir's fifth hundred in consecutive Tests was the highlight of India's push for a sizeable lead in Chittagong

Continues his good form.

No better chance to equal Don Bradman's record than in the next Test. I wish him all the best. A fine batsman for India!

Gambhir is the one of the best going around at the moment. He is good against both spin and fast bowlers.
