That'll explain why I was unsuccessful last night then. I'm the lie detector. I get to send a quote from the thread each night and find out if they are telling the truth.

I was going to question this quote from Near last night, but obviously couldn't get a response:

Btw on a given night, are you allowed to quote lines from any of the previous nights, or are you restricted to only quoting lines from that particular night?

Usually a Lie detector can quote a phrase from any part of the game.

This means, the doc protected the mafia target, or the mafia attempted to kill someone who couldn't be killed.

Is there a reference of a jailkeeper in the writeup?

Last time we had a lie detector claim it was Smurf and he was mafia.
I wonder if the doctor is told if their protect is successful or not. If the doctor is out there and was told they didn't protect anyone last night then speak up. Being outed is a small price to pay for managing to lynch the godfather.

Night 3​

He didn?t know that he had been successful the previous night and helped prevent another death but he went on with his job, hoping to confuse everyone else. He fulfilled his task for the night and decided to call it a night. What would his actions do this time though?

Tells us that BD had an effect on night 2. Doesn't give us info on night 3.

He was keeping an eye on his target. He had planted the seed and hoped to gain some vital information. The other man was unaware of this and continued with his task, as the older man gained some useful information.

Sounds like Ben tracking me visiting Treva.

When you don?t succeed, you try again. Unfortunately, tonight was not his night again, it seemed. ?Need more practice?, he whispered as a note to himself.

Vigilante fails or is blocked. I thought Treva might claim vig.

He was getting frustrated. Tonight was the night, he thought. He would inflict a painful death on his target. ?Huh, where is he? He?s always skulking around here. Hopefully he?s dead?, he noted to himself, annoyed at not being able to finish his target himself.

Mafia kill fails. Commuter? Doctor? Role blocked?

There has been no mention in any of the write-ups about a lie detector. Doesn't mean there isn't one; just means we should be wary of the claim.
Currently my FOS is on Treva.

Yeah, interesting claim there, treva. The fact you were role-blocked and there was no kill definitely makes you suspicious. Especially as it wasn't the Doc who prevented a kill last night.

I know cos I'm the Doc. Not worried about role-claiming at this stage, and not worried about night actions targeting me either.

I was unsuccessful with my role last night. I don't think I was mentioned in the write-up this time. The third paragraph was possibly me, but it sounds more like the vig.

Treva seems to look the most suspicious atm, because he was roleblocked and there was no kill. Already two vanilla's have died so the mafia are possibly going to be looking to claim actual roles now, and there's no guarantee that a lie detector would be in the game. In saying that his claim seems feasible, but at the same time there's last night to look at. Possibly that could be a reason for a mass roleclaim, because then we should be able to narrow if he's telling the truth or not. I want other people's thoughts on this because people start claiming though, to see if you guys think it's a good idea.

Also I'm suspicious of AngryPixel, Chewie, and Tom. AngryPixel because he replaced Near who done absolutely nothing, Chewie because he still seems to be playing under the radar, and I'm not really sure on Tom because he seems to be giving off mixed vibes in the few posts he's made.

Seconded. We're in an ideal situation, and it only narrows down the suspect list to figure out as to who's lying.

Massive FOS on treva. Just waiting on a commuter/Town RB (if they're existent) to confirm that treva is/isn't lying before I place my lynch - which as of now remains on AP, the reason for which has pretty much been outlined by you.
