John Simpson keeps his cool to give Georgetown Mariners a crucial victory in a thriller.
On a flat Providence Stadium pitch, star Santiago allrounder Sebastián Frías was the main attraction with his quickfire 76 in the middle overs, after a solid start from the openers, to send the total past 300. It actually looked like Mariners would romp home when captain Anthony Josiah and Andrew Paul were bashing the bowlers to all parts, but Santiago paceman Ruben Martinez pulled things back and Mariners were suddenly in freefall mode. In the end, Simpson made a brilliant 50 batting with the tail to ensure his team claimed the crucial 2 points on offer.
