Cricket 24 - General Discussion

Been playing quite a lot of Cricket 19. A much more polished and rewarding experience in my humble opinion than the two games coming after.

Damn you, I'm now reinstalling it. I sense today is not going to be a productive work day.

I still maintain the AI is better in 24 especially how they build an inning's.

I've been batting in a retro test match on my saved sliders and it's really felt more of a challenge than any game of 24 I've had on default sliders. If I get the time and can get my teenager off the PS5 I might try and mirror those sliders as best I can on 24 to see if that adds a bit more replayability.

I reckon if we play any of these games the same irks and frustrations will come to the foreground. I have probably just forgot a lot about the shite in '19 to notice yet!

I've got a sneaky feeling I'm getting a PS5 for Christmas. I reckon I'll be going back to Ashes 17 and just customise it up. The general consensus seems to be that's a superior game of cricket than C24.

I remember the AI late cutting spinners for a six which was the most frustrating thing for me in Cricket 19

Real time physics and a dev team who give gameplay the same care and attention they have to Tiebreak

So after I absolutely crushed South Africa using Sri Lanka, confidence was high heading into a Test series between England and India. I batted first using England and declared at 400 to get a few overs at India before the break. Started pretty well as I picked up one of the openers for 12. However, it was all downhill from there as it took me nearly 170 overs to get them out and they made 550+. Fair to say, I'm batting for a draw now.

That won’t happen as it will have to be a brand new game built from the ground up.
No chances of that happening? Just building a layer on top of the tired old engine and tired old animations? If the current engine was a person they would be getting spoon fed soup at Seaview Residence for the Overworked telling boring stories about how they remember in the good old days that if a cricket ball hit an advertising hoarding it sounded like that instead of a soiled adult nappy smacked against the shower wall…..and catching Sonny, you kids have no idea…we used to be able to catch and it was part of the fun….and clouds on rainy days, no it is true, honestly…..but at least you have the sauna and yoga these days……
