Hey guys,

In the Don Bradman cricket academy, I'm trying to create a fun variation of the 1 day game, as suggested by the likes of Sachin Tendulkar etc (Which i really like, and IMO the 1 Day game is just too predictable, as the team which wins the toss wis 95% of the games)

Basically 20 overs per innings (does not allow me to choose 25 per innings) and a team bats 2 innings.
So a total of 4 innings all over in around 8 hours of play.

Looks like there is an option in the academy to create such custom matches.

I basically tried creating a match type.
If you see screenshot1, these are the settings
80 overs per day
2 innings
Also set 2 days per match
All 4 innings - have compulsory closure

In more settings i have set the start time to 6:30 am

And i have also set sessions

I create this match type and start a casual match or a competition with this match type.
The issue is once the first innings is over after 20 overs, the match is set as 'Drawn'!!!
Some times, the game allows me to bowl 3-4 overs of the second innings and then , the match is set as 'Drawn'!!!

Can someone try this and let us know?
I dont know if am doing anything wrong or maybe its a bug in the game (Creating a match type is something that is not tested much, i guess)

Thanx in advance

does not allow me to choose 25 per innings
It will - just use the right/left on the D-pad, rather than the LB/RB buttons so it isn't jumping.

I only simulated it, but was able to complete a 2 innings 25 over per innings match - and I frequently play online with custom match types.

I see there's 2 days listed there, so it shouldn't be the problem, but bump up the 80 overs per day thing - just so you're accounting for the game taking away overs for the change of innings - which I'm fairly sure it does because of it treating two innings matches as like tests in that regard.

ah!
Let me bump that to 120 overs per day and keep it to 2 days and check!

Thanks for the reply.

Custom match types are the best way to play online, nothing beats the original Super Test.

Hey Matt,
That did not work. I bumped the over count to 130 these were the settings.

Then i played a game in a competition (9 team league) using this Custom Match type

I dismissed Brisbane Roar for an incredible '9' runs!
Then i finished 14 overs and commentator says - 'Match over'! A Draw!

If you notice i set the time as 6:30 AM. Is that an issue? (anyway it always plays in late evening!)

Can you show me your setup?

Thanks.

At a guess, your sessions don't allow enough overs to be completed?

Its strange.
After each session in regular test matches, there is a break and the commentators say - 'End of the session'.
I see nothing of that sort, here.

Also i set the start time to be 6:30 am.
But the game starts at 5:30 pm and it goes on till 6:40 PM (shadows all around)
and then it stops the game. It should not as i have set the 'Days per match' as 2 days.

Cursory look at the scorecard shows the game is treated as a T10 match with no overs limit, i.e. the length of the match is being treated as 20 overs overall (including both/all innings) with no closure after 10 overs.

huh.. interesting.

Try setting overs per day to 45 or 50 and having the compulsory closure as 10 overs. The time you start matches doesn't affect anything, except you get some neat commentary if you start the game at a ridiculous hour.

Well, having the 'compulsory closure' as 10 overs will ensure each innings will last only 10 overs right? I want it to be 20 overs.
Or is it each session will last 10 overs?
And also what is the reasoning behind setting 'overs per day' to 45 or 50?

Let me try.

You want a 20/20 match with 2 innings for each team, yeah? So that's 10 over's per innings. Four innings, 40 overs increasing the overs per day a little more for change of innings over loss. That's my guess? Matt is better at this stuff than I am...

Wel, technically its not T20 with 2 innings of 10 overs.

This is what i want to achieve.

Team 1 - 20 overs - First innings
Team 2 - 20 overs - First innings

Team 1 - 20 overs - Second Innings
Team 2 - 20 overs - Second Innings

So 4 innings, 80 overs and increased the overs per day for change of innings. Exactly what i did as per Matt's suggestion.

Let me keep trying.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Basically a 40 over ODI with 2 innings for each team. Right, got it now. Set it to happen only for one day instead of 2?
