Dave Hussey - Future Test Player?

I know, Michael got in when he was 30 but he was in superman form and peaked at the right time, or just before really coz he was considered for Ashes '05.

I feel sorry for him, he should have been english he would have definitly got in the team here :p

Haha, yeah because he is better than half of your middle order batsman:p

Nah, on his form over the last few years I reckon he should be given a go - at least in ODIs.

well he could get picked because the retirement of Justin Langer and Damien Martyn. He can open the batting as well batting in the middle order
I've never seen him open the batting...

The thing about Hussey is that you've got Brad Hodge who never did anything wrong but was still dropped, and he also played well for years before being selected. The current test side is a little too locked up right now.

Hussey is a definite chance to play some ODI cricket this year, but I doubt he'll get into the Test side unless there is a dramatic drop of form by one of the current batsmen.

He may well deserve it, but as recent selections would suggest, Hodge is ahead of Hussey in the selectors opinions. Even then, I'm not so sure Hodge will get the call up.

Go check his average in Australian domestic FC Cricket. It'll probably be in the 40's.

Mike Hussey only averages around about 40.

Hayden averages 55, I think & Ponting averages 60. Steve Waugh averaged 49 in FC & 50 in OD's.

Players like Martyn, Langer, etc, all averaged in the mid 40's.
