DBC17 Career Mode

Thought the patch gave me the confidence to start a career without problems, with consideration to the steps being taken to prevent this, but it crashed during my first game. Not happy!!!

I'm finding career mode to be a brutal affair. I used to average 60+ in career mode on the highest difficulty as a batsman, now I'm playing on rookie with batting set to 'easiest' and I struggle to get to 20. When I play on casual I'm alright, but the low skill of my career player combined with facing nothing but spin bowlers make it incredibly difficult.

Every shot I play goes straight to the fielder. Cut shots are out of the question because of the ridiculously OP slip & point fielders who catch everything within a 5 metre radius.

I appreciate the progression from club to first-class, but I'd like to have an option to start at first-class as endless T20s get very boring very quickly. I want time to get myself in and play a proper innings instead of playing rash shots against bowlers with such a low rating that there is no pace on the ball whatsoever.

I know this post sounds whiny but it's hard to enjoy career when the easiest of easiest difficulties is too hard.

I just played a very cautious t20 innings in all my games . Having a strike rate of 84 , just to make it into the first class and apparently my average still is very low , seems like thats a bit buggy . Anyways just play yourself in and dont try for big hits you should be fine

Well being honest, I'm not doing too bad. After three seasons in the club game, playing for my beloved Wanneroo, I secured a contract with the Warriors and played a few games before being offered a contract with the Scorchers. After just four games I was invited to a party being hosted by Adam Voges; sadly I got drunk and fell... I mean, 'rusty tin roof' with Mitchell Johnson's sporn. He disowned the two of us, I was quickly dropped by the Scorchers but the Warriors have kept me on bowling right arm wrist spin and batting in the middle. I do need to get back to T20 as the cost of child care is high and the short form negates expensive nannies. Otherwise, tickity boo.

I have had a few crashes and freezes (all reported) just waiting patiently for the next patch.

I've tried several times to start and enjoy a career but have encountered numerous crashes. So I've decided to wait for patch 3 before trying again. I love the game but it's just too unstable for me right now.

Finally started a career, my goodness you really need to toil through the first dozen games when you have the physical strength of an emaciated gnat. There does seem to be some sort of sea change once you get to about 40 overall (dependent on how you use your points) that allows you to actually hit the ball more than 10 feet. It's been a long and mostly fruitless day getting there but 12 games into the season I'm actually now starting to enjoy it at last.

Noticed that when you try add your real club to career mode, the game just replaces all the players with randoms...not cool.

Yeah, should be able to at least change the name of the players assigned to the team
