Demo and directx 8.1 - demo does not run anymore

Hi to all!

Yesterday I downloaded the Australia vs England demo from this site - everything worked great. The game started without any problems and I played around for a couple of time.

After playing a while, I (unfortunately) decided to update DirectX to the newes version, which is 8.1. (I am using W98).

Since I have done so, I am no longer able to start the demo. After clicking on the icon a blank window appears on the left upper corner of my screen for a few seconds and after that it gives up and quits.

I did some investigations on this site and have seen, that many of you seems to have the same problem as I have.

Did anyone of you find a solution inbetween?

i too have directx 8.1 and i can run the game without any trouble.The problem does not lie with directx,its with your graphics card{perhaps its not directx8.1 compatible}.
Are you using a 3dfx card?C2k2 is incompatible with 3dfx cards...

Thanks for your reply! I will have a look now for the latest drivers for my video-card - maybe that is the solution.
