AI batting/pacing
With regard to the CPU pacing of their innings I have found that if you bowl a consistent line and length (and have the bowling marker in the yellow, whilst also stopping the bowling meter as near to perfect as possible) the AI batsmen will almost always defend or leave. Only when experimenting with different line and lengths and stopping the bowling meter early did I find the AI batsmen started spanking me all over the pitch.
I do not think that the CPU are aware it is a 3 over match at all. By following my original way of bowling, above, I can regulaly keep them to around 10 runs or less in their 3 overs, whether they are batting first or second.
This is why I don't think they are aware it's a 3 over match as, even when chasing a total, they do not become overly aggressive as long as you bowl consistently well.
If this is how the AI plays in test matches then it is very, very encouraging.
I'm sorry, but that seems very discouraging to me! As long as you get the ball in the right place, the batsmen usually leave or defend the ball? That'd be fine if it wasn't so easy to get the cursor in the right place, as I'd imagine it is? That means that the AI will never cut loose unless you start bowling absolute rubbish. In real cricket, even if the ball was a good one, they still get hit for four occasionally.

I think the reason for not giving not out was umpire thought it was run out appeal. Iam not sure if transmission people considered that case if ball hits the batsman and goes on to hit stumps.
As long as it doesn't happen too often, it doesn't matter too much. Otherwise, it'll get like the dismissals where the batsman kept leg glancing the ball onto their stumps.
I don't see why people are moaning about BLC 99 ambient sounds. They were brilliant!
BLIC '99 ambience + crowd chants = perfect cricket atmosphere.
Apart from plantCricket the feedback has been Poor tbh.

I didnt call it to be a major flaw but its one of these things u would like to see. For eg, u dont want a side foot shot curling outside in football games do u?
When ppl here want to see after match presentation, correction of elbow pads etc, there is nothing wrong in asking for real time ball movement. Each to their own i guess.
Well, if the ball curls a different way than it was supposed to, it'll determine whether there is a goal, or if the ball reaches its intended target. If the ball in cricket goes backwards/forwards/up/down/left/right after bowling someone, it doesn't matter in the slightest: the guy is still out! Not a good comparison.
As to the 'poor' feedback from some people not from this forum, maybe they were the sheep who liked BLIC 07's baseball style, as opposed to this game's realistic looking cricket style? Some links would be good.
pc demo will be out on 30 july 09
Official source?
I thought the crowd looked okay from the videos, you could see a lady standing up and clapping after a boundary and it looked really good.
I agree, I like the crowd.
Having played demo to death I think we are going to have a good cricket game at last.
Have noticed that the weather and conditions do affect bounce and swing.
We have been told there is more camera angles and bowlers speeds are fixed.
I hope the ps3 version is a touch brighter to see the ball in the field.
The loopy bounce has gone , would like to see 90 mph coming through a bit quicker , but that might happen on dryer wickets .
There is a lot to be positive about ac9 and lets remember this is just a early demo of 3 overs game , I am sure there is lot more in the full game for us all to see.
Excellent stuff!
You are right. I haven't check whole thread but I still needs to get my hands on PC demo to make any decision. People should realize that this is only try to make best cricket game so as developer said to make PES 6 we need to make PES 1st
Indeed. Rome wasn't built in a day.
And when this game gets to PES 6's level and then starts going down the toilet, especially in PES 09, we can stop buying it and just keep updating the last 'good' version...
