Papua New Guinea's innings was lead by Assad Vala, the team captain, who scored a steady, strong, 61 off 49 balls to prevent another all-out in the tournament, and take PNG to a respectable 131 for the loss of 6- a decent score for the slow pitch. Bilal took Ura out almost immediately after being struck for four, but Vala batted on from there, with assistance from Doriga and Amini too to get PNG where they are without an unnecessary collapse.​

Chad Soper and Norman Vanua, the PNG pace duo, rip apart Oman's batting and make their Top 8 look like a Phone Number read vertically. Vanua managed to remove 4 of the Top 5 and Soper took care of the rest of the middle order and batting for much lesser runs, as both finished with 4 wickets at less than a run a ball. Mehmood and Bilal's partnership at the end helps Oman stay in for just a while and prevent an embarrassing score, but after a couple of more wickets, they are cleaned up for just 79.​
