Can't believe I haven't created a topic on this yet. Does anyone else watch the show about everyone's favourite serial killer? I saw the first season on Channel Ten, and got the second season overseas, and now I've been "watching" the third season as it comes out in America.

It's the best thriller/drama/humour fusion show on TV.

Haven't really seen it to be honest, was watching about 15 minutes of it before i had to go to work, and i liked what i saw. Haven't had time to watch a episode yet. But will certainly make some time :D

My favourite show by a fair margin. Has everything you could hope for in a show. (including breasts, season two is awesome)

I'm watching season one again, definitely my favourite. The third season has been slow, but now it's really getting back to the level of its thrilling predecessors.

I knew I could count on you tassie, you seem to have a natural taste for good TV (Boston Legal, Arrested Development, Dexter).

Love it. Don't know which season I watched, might be season 2, but it was absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to the next series.

Didn't actually get into Arrested Development. Is that a hint you're dropping?

Hmm I thought you did, but you'll like it, it's an incredible parody on the modern day family sitcom with an excellent mixture of subtle, dry and over the top comedy. It's all quiet too, which I must say does a lot for me. I find that the louder people say something, the less funny it often ends up being.

Here's one more for you then, flight of the conchords?

Definitely agree with Flight of the Conchords. Got it easy really, at our college there is a big network of downloaded TV shows, and when one is good, everyone starts talking about it, and soon enough, i've watched all of the episodes. Not great for uni studies, but that's the way it goes. The IT Crowd is another good one.

Never heard of the IT Crowd, but will look it up. FOTC oozes class, I think it has the potential to be the best new sitcom of the decade. There's something great about soft dialogue, I can't describe it, but NZ comedy really contrasts Australian comedy, which is so loud and obvious. I can't think of a single good Australian sitcom right now. Our sketch shows are even worse.

30 Rock?

Is this a thread about 'Dexter' or Dean and Tassie's TV chat? ;)

Oh and the IT Crowd is hilarious!

Dexter is awesome. I've decided I'm going to wait on 'obtaining' the next two episodes until both are out. I'll rewatch seasons one and two and three over the next two weeks and then I can complete the watching experience with the last two eps. Dexter marathon!

Plus I just found out it got renewed for 2 more seasons :happy

I hate that emoticon.

I heard they planned out 5 seasons before they started doing any of it becacuse they were worried it would become stale. If the seasons 3-5 can finish up as brilliantly as the first two, (I preferred the second one) I'll be impressed.

Also, there's no way to watch Dexter other than getting the whole season and watching them in a row. I'm hating this once-a-week rubbish I'm having to put up with at the moment.

tassietiger added 24 Minutes and 42 Seconds later...

If the thread said that it was just going to be our TV chat, there would be two billion views a minute and planetcricket would explode. Nobody wants that, so we just conceal our discussions in loosely related thread titles like "TV: Dexter"

I agree, that's how I watched the first two seasons (started the first on Ten, got into it and couldn't wait any longer so I rented the rest and watched it in a couple of days). Then I watched season 2 which I got in Thailand.

And yes our TV tastes are great, I think we should start a book club, only not for books, but for TV instead. We'd be bigger than Oprah!

OH MY GOD SOMEONE HERE WATCHES DEXTER?

I seriously am in LOVE with this show. I can't believe the writers of a show can honestly be this good. The suspense and the way they can keep you hooked is literally unmatched. No other show comes close (in this genre atleast). Season 3 started out slow but is turning out quite nicely. I thought nothing could top the ending of Season 1 due to the emotional moment but all I gotta say is...wow at Miguel Prado.

Great episode this week, just saw it and wow. Spoilers now:

Really dramatic way he killed Miguel, love the way he showed his true colours at the end calling Dexter a freak. I didn't trust him from the moment Dexter found the cows blood on the shirt. Looking forward to the final episode now, will the skinner get Dexter or will they get him first?
