Well after having alot of trouble getting the AI to make decent scores I started messing around with the different difficulty levels and found that the batting and Bowling difficulty have alot of effect on how the AI plays
After playing on easy batting and medium bowling and getting the AI out for under 200 I put the batting and Bowling difficulty to hardest when bowling and WOW the AI made 561 and felt like a different game
Now I set batting to medium bowling to hardest when batting and noticed the AI dont bowl as many byes
Now it plays really well well done BA I am really starting to find it really competitive and enjoyable playing against AI now can't wait to play next test
If anyone else is not enjoying how the AI plays try this method stated above and post how you found it

Did you find any method to make AI vs AI realiatic as well?
You know i dont play full match but take control some overs then i let AI to play it.

This is very odd. Will try it once i get home. This must be a glitch right. I dont think this is supposed to change AI difficulty. For that i guess there is veteran, legend etc. Am i getting anything wrong?

Yeah I thought it was odd to but when I tried changing from pro to legend kept getting same results its like the match difficulty is not doing anything
But when I changed the batting and Bowling difficulties I got results in the last test I played I even had the top 7 batsmans batting skills to max and here are the results I got
1St innings match difficulty legend batting difficulty easy bowling medium AI all out 203
2ND INNINGS match difficulty legend batting difficulty hardest bowling difficulty hardest AI all out 561
The AI seemed to bat a hell of alot better and wasn't getting them out with the same chip shots as they were in the 1st innings

+1

AI 3/148 end of 2nd session. I have set infielders to back and there was only one chip shot which was catchable. But I dropped it. Moreover I have bowled 16 maidens.

So does that mean that the Batting and Bowling difficulties (Easiest, Easy, Medium, Hard, Custom etc.) are somehow linked to the AI? If yes, what purpose does the match difficulty (PRO, VETERAN, LEGEND etc.) serve? Coupled with no information about what the custom gameplay modifier sliders are supposed to do and how they map to default difficulties, I've no clue anymore what combination is supposed to provide what sort of gameplay experience.

I am surprised no one at BA, especially Matt hasn't explained about all the slider settings. Maybe they thought better for users to find out for themselves but I personally don't have the time for that?

If you play test, the hardest batting and hard bowling with legend difficulty will give you a pretty decent gameplay, it will be challenging and u may not do well initially. For odis, I found medium batting and hard bowling with veteran difficulty is perfect for this format. I never felt a need for custom setting playing the game with these defualt settings. I do not play club cricket or t20s so not sure what is the best diffculty for these format.

Do you think that the our bowling skills are neutralised in game when we set it to hardest difficulty in the sense that the bowlers dont bowl the same delivery the same they would on medium than on the hardest. Like your top spinner or your out swinger / in swinger dont do have that much venom.. and AI Skills are more sharper. I know I could be clutching some straws when I say that.

To be fair, figuring things out for ourselves is very much like playing cricke

T20 can be a real drag sometimes on hardest, especially in career mode. There's no way you can match the AI scoring rates (initially at least). Personally I find myself plugging away with singles and 2s whilst my batting partner is scoring up to 5 times faster some times. T20 doesn't lend itself well to a low-stat career player on the hardest difficulty.

You spot on with tests I lost the last test I played with the higher settings haven't played any ODIs yet but I will play with what you have recommended here I have two more tests to play then I will be playing the 1982/83 Benson and Hedges world series
I too have not even touched the custom sliders I think you can find a good balance with the difficulty settings but at least now we know a little bit more from other users what the difficulty settings control

I found the match difficulty does nothing so I don't really know what purpose it serves at present I think since last patch to stop the AI smashing the last ball of your over and scoring rather quickly in test matches BA has changed something as before patch 3 i had AI making 450+ on pro with batting and Bowling difficulty set to easy the match difficulty was working before latest patch as to what combination to use start at the high end and work your waydown once you find the right settings you will be very satisfied with the outcome.
I think because alot of user believed the batting and Bowling difficulties only controlled your timing which before patch 3 i would also agree but now since patch 3 it seems to have some effect as noted by several user experimenting with these batting and Bowling difficulties

Funny this is cropping up as I'm having the exact same issue.

I have found that pro is not ne necessarily easier than Veteran.
But the dismissals are different edges to slips Bowleds etc.

My biggest issue and one that I think makes the skills a bit of a farce is if you try make a batsmen 90+ just for batting it's almost impossible.

I skilled two batsmen exactly the same to a tee and their batting stats are completely different! Makes no sense!
