News From Australia
Two Australian records were broken in the ING cup game between Queensland and Western Australia today.
Jimmy Maher scored 187 for Queensland, the highest List A score in Australian cricket. It is the 2nd highest by an Australian, Darren Lehman's 191 for Yorkshire in 2001, being the highest. It is the 14th highest score overall. Ally Brown monstrous 268 stand way out in front, almost 50 runs ahead of the 2nd place score.
Queensland's total of 405/4 is the highest by an Australian team, and the 7th highest overall. The highest is Surrey's score of 438/5 against Glamorgan, that featured Brown's 268. Remarkably Glamorgan's reply reached 429 in that match, which is the 2nd highest score ever.
