Don Bradman Cricket 14 Official Trailer

You're massively overstating the number of people who buy cricket games

'Buy' being the operative word. Sadly, the exceptionally high rate of piracy in major cricketing nations such as India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka has a huge impact.

Ross I hope you dont take this the wrong way, but I find it quite strange that the Trailer showcases exactly what it does, especially since it is so easy to confuse it with just another cricket game.

Not trying to harp on with what I said earlier, but what you said sort of proved the point I was trying to make. DBC14 has so many DIFFERENT things going for it that it should be quite easy to direct a showcase of the game in a direction that separates it from the woeful games such as AC2013 - Adding in some of the Cricket Academy footage / BARS more career oriented footage in between all the gameplay stuff could have mediated the confusion I think.

I know what Im saying is pretty futile, but just my 2 cents. You guys have something very special here and it shouldnt be downplayed, thats all I mean.

I think the problem is that they are caught between two stools - trying to please both simulation gamers and arcade gamers.

The risk is trying to please both and satisfying neither.

Ross you can change the name of the game to Sachin Tendulkar cricket 14 and release it in India and other nations... I am quite sure that you will earn huge profit in India itself because of the impact Sachin has made in 24 years and specially during this year...

Ok. You're massively overstating the number of people potentially interested in buying a cricket game.

Still not right I'm afraid to say. Good attempt to put words in my mouth though - wouldn't want people thinking the release delay is a bad thing would we?

I said...no...I'll let you have another go.

Yeah and get his ass sued,
Then no game for anyone.

"There are millions of cricket fans out there - looking for a game to buy at xmas."

What else could this possibly mean?

I agree with what you're saying.

I think up until now since BLC'99 all we've ever ended up with has been arcade-based cricket games, no matter how we look at it, the games have never had any real depth or realism to them at all and Im pretty sure we're all really fed-up with that. We've had "fancy controls" etc, but none of the previous games had anything SIM about them.

So I dont think it will be a bad thing if they really market this game as something completely different - distance it completely from the rest because lets be frank, we've had 14+ years of cricket games supposedly catering to many audiences and they have all sucked. So I think they should embrace the "nicheness" of their product and market the flip out of it from that perspective, because we're ALL fed up with the trend of cricket games of the past.

I'm not even trying to be argumentative...I'm trying to figure out what the hell you mean by your incredibly obtuse phrasing. Instead of choosing your words carefully, why don't you just choose the words that effectively communicate what you want to say...

Millions of cricket fans. Looking to buy a game at Christmas (cricket game or otherwise). What is your actual point?
