Draft Order
The initial draft order is random. Ongoing leagues can allow teams to draft in the order they finished the last season, but it's not ideal if you have new league team managers. Order of picks varies for each round of picks.

SOME ADDED EXTRAS - to spice things up

Wild Card
League Managers can throw in a wild card draft pick to spice things up. This can be done by taking the more popular players and randomly assign them to teams.

Draft Steal
This one will definitely not make the user popular, but it allows it's user to steal another teams pick. One per team should be enough.

AUCTIONS.png

An auction is usually a process of buying players by offering them up for bid, taking bids, and then selling the player to the highest bidder.

IPL - STYLE

Player acquisition
A team can acquire players through any of the three ways: the annual player auction, trading players with other teams during the trading windows, and signing replacements for unavailable players. Players sign up for the auction and also set their base price, and are bought by the franchise that bids the highest for them. Unsold players at the auction are eligible to be signed up as replacement signings. In the trading windows, a player can only be traded with his consent, with the franchise paying the difference if any between the old and new contracts. If the new contract is worth more than the older one, the difference is shared between the player and the franchise selling the player. There are generally three trading windows—two before the auction and one after the auction but before the start of the tournament. Players cannot be traded outside the trading windows or during the tournament, whereas replacements can be signed before or during the tournament.

The Budget
A predefined budget should be in place. The franchises build their strategy around the players they want and the money they have. It has often proved vital that the franchises keep some money in the purse to be utilized at the right moment.

Player retention (in case an ongoing league)
Teams can retain up to 5 players as a part of pre-auction retention. In the pre-auction retention, the teams can retain 3 players which can include up to 3 local capped players, up to 2 overseas players, and up to 2 uncapped local players.

Auction
The Auction will be an open auction with each player being individually put up for bidding by the franchises. The highest bid that is accepted by the auctioneer shall be the buyer at that price.
