International Cricket League was founded and created by a poster named Saj001 in June 2012.The objective of this league is to experience the joy of pitting your strategic skills against your fellows. ICL will have one live running competition this season (T20C), the details of which will be made available in the near future.
Competition and Points System
The T20C Competition will be contested in a round-robin format (each team plays each other four times times, twice home and twice away). Matches will be contested over a single day with each team playing one innings of 20 overs. The team which scores the most runs during the match are declared winners of the match.The T20C competition is based on a points system, where the two teams with the most points at the end of the league will play against each other in the final. The team which wins the final will be declared the inaugural International Cricket League Champions! The points system are as follows:
Win: 4 points + team bonus + player bonus
Tie: 2 points + team bonus + player bonus
Loss: 0 points + team bonus + player bonus
Player bonus points:
Team bonus points can be allocated for both batting and bowling. The result of the match has no impact on bonus points. The bonus points can be awarded as follows:
Batting:
50 runs or more: 1 point
100 runs or more: 3 points
Bowling:
3 wickets or more: 1 point
5 wickets or more: 3 points
Team wildcard points:
During the course of the season, each team is allowed 1 game which they can select to be as 'team wildcard' (prior to the deadline for the match-day in the match-thread). All points taken from that game will be doubled for the team selecting it as wildcard. If both teams select the same game, points will be doubled for both.
Player wildcard points:
During the course of the season, each team is allowed 1 game which they can select to be as 'player wildcard' (prior to the deadline for the match-day in the match-thread). All player averages for the team in that particular match will automatically be changed to the base price of '10M' but the points obtained from the match will continue to run as normal. If both teams select the same game, the rules will apply to both teams.
Captain / Vice Captain Roles and Duties
Conduct:Captains and vice-captains are decision-makers of their teams. This does not make them immune to following the rules of ICL, nor does it mean they cannot be punished for wrongdoing. Any captain caught breaking rules will be a) removed from captaincy and b) punished just like any other member, depending on the severity of the situation.
The line-up taking part for the respective match needs to be posted in the match-thread or submitted to myself (Saj001) via PM prior to the announced deadlines. This choice is given to the captain or the vice-captain
(planet cricket users only) as there are no restrictions should they wish to post the teams directly in the match threads.
Posting the pitch for match-day:
The pitch must be posted by the home captain/vice-captain in the match thread prior to the announced deadline. There is no choice here for either and failure to post the pitch in the match thread will result in a random pitch being chosen and 2 points deduction from the home team.
Pitch types available include: Dusty, Flat, Green, Hard, Slow, Sticky and Uneven.
Team Selection:
One of the key roles of a captain is to name 11 players for every match in the match thread. The only players eligible for selection are those in the team squad of the club. The team must be named using the following template, in batting order:
Failure to post the team - will result in a random team being chosen along with 5 points deduction from the respective team.
Failure to post the pitch - will result in a random pitch being chosen along with 2 points deduction from the home-team.
Squad and Team Selection
Selecting the squad:
Each team is alloted a budget of 110M (which should not be exceeded) to spend on buying the players from the respective pool. Each player has his/her price which corresponds to the unique averages. The captains will be requested to select a squad of 15 players in the set-format (6BAT, 1WK, 3AR and 5BOWL) on a turn-by-turn basis.
PC players (draft rule):
Each squad must contain 6 PC players and 9 Pakistan players only.
Failure to meet the criteria will not allow the team to participate in the tournament. If you notice closely, the price for PC's is between the range of 1 million of each other, therefore all players have approximately an equal opportunity making the league non-biased. Since all pc's are guaranteed a place in the line-up at start, this means that upon performing well, your potential will be boosted for the next season.
PC players (match rule):
Each time is allowed to have a minimum of 6 PC players. Failure to meet the criteria will not allow the team to participate in the respective match.
Pakistan players (match rule):
Each time is allowed to have a maximum of 5 Pakistani players only. Failure to meet the criteria will not allow the team to participate in the respective match.
Draft period:
The sequence of draft will take place from the draft pool in the order listed by captain preferences using the turn-by-turn shuffle order.
Squad management:
The squad size is kept fixed at 15 with regards to the available pool. It is the captain?s responsibility to ensure a balanced squad is in place. No additional players will be allowed to be signed during the season.
Mid-season draft
Player draft:
At the end of Match-day 6, a draft will take place, where any new or available players can be picked by captains or vice-captains to join their team. A maximum of only 2 players can be traded during the time. Players will be sold or bought as per their new price only.
In order for the organized running of the draft, teams will first be allowed to only sell the players (maximum of 2) they wish to make him available for selection to others. In case of Pakistani players, the decision is solely upon the captain or vice-captain. In case of PC players, the decision needs to be agreed by the player himself as well as the captain and vice-captain. If a team does not wish to sell any player, they will not be allowed to buy as well.
Buying round
In order for the organized running of the draft, teams will then be allowed to buy from the available pool of players. The decision for buying can be agreed by either the captain or vice-captain respectively. It is the duty of the team to ensure that they do not exceed the available budget at all times. The draft will again go in a turn-by-turn system wherein the team with the lowest points will start the proceedings.
Note:
Whether buying or selling, each squad must have the benchmark of 6 PC players and 9 Pakistan players at all times. Therefore, it is strongly advised to check the pool availability before selling the PC players.
