Seems Rahul Dravid has been found guilty of ball tampering and fined half his match fee. It really puzzles me why a talented team like India need to cheat...against Zimbabwe nonetheless. Bloody foolish thing to do.

yes i saw this on the TV, i didn't know who did it though.
it was great camera work!!
makes you wonder if they have been doing it earlier?

I think in that case Zimbabwe should get the points also because they were really close at winning the match

I didn't see it but it's hard to imagine someone like Dravid doing this thing deliberately :(
and no insideedge they don't have to cheat and I don't think they do..they are winning matches without any controversies..

They must of been scared, so they had to CHEAT to win. :P It was a great match, it would of been sooooo good if Zimbabwe won, espeically since I was at the game :D

it was a yellow cough lozange from dravids mouth. The channel 9 commentators were talking about it for 5 minutes and didnt really knew wat it was and it may be unhygenic to the other players health. i apparently agree with them and believe it is unhygenic and possibly cheating.

Exactly, especially when he then offered the lozenge to Ganguly after he was done.

hey guys ,

how the hell would a spot of coloured spit make a difference to the ball. according to the rules you can apply spit or sweat to the ball during the game. watch brett lee bowling he always wipes his forehead with the ball .. is he cheating ? dravid was rubbing spit on to the ball but had pieces of lozenge in his hand .. that coloured the spit . as soon as he realised it .. he tried to rub it off ... if it was that big of an issue the umpires would have changed the ball .. Dravid did say to the match refree that he did admit he applied the coloured spit by mistake and as soon he realised it was coloured he tried to clean the ball. this in itself is a level 2 offence and that's why he was fined .. if he had really meant to cheat he would have been banned for a match or two.(eg Shoaib akhtar) dravid is a pretty stand up guy. I would think ganguly would be more inclined to cheat than anyone else in the indian team ... but not dravid . DO you really think india would cheat against zimbabwe ..and of all the people dravid ?

Yeah, except on the replay you can cearly see he's rubbing the lozenge itself directly onto the shiny side of the ball. I don't understand why he'd do it either, but the fact is he did... and now he's trying to save his cred.

well i dont fink its cheating but it is certainly unhygenic. like u can possibly spread menningococal lol!!

The chemicals from the cough thingy could alter the ball's condition, you never know what Stepsils has in it.:D ;)

Dont make me laugh! applying sweat to a ball and and an artifcial substance are two completely different things. It doesnt matter what affect it would have on the ball, its against the laws of cricket and thats why he has been fined. It is cheating, and thats why he is now trying to save face.

i seen footage of it last night and it didnt look too good, i think he knew it was on there, because he kept on rubbing it into the surface of ball.

is there any proof that the caugh lozenge can make the ball swing or something?? it's so stupid to think that!
sure technically he 'used' this 'artifcial substance' but players are using saliva for ages and it was just accident that dravid had this caugh thing at the same time. if caugh lozenge can affect the ball so can chewing gum!
