I'm starting a Cricket World Cup 2007 story on Cricket 2005.

I will play most of the games, but some matches I will invite others to play and post as there are so many matches.

All matches played at Barbados.

You can help me decide who to play for as well.

The first game I will play for West Indies.

Anyone want to do a preview of the all the teams to add to the realism?

Are You gonna have all the talented young players paying for all the teams or are you gonna play with the current squads?. Also, are you gonna have all the teams that are featuring in the 2007 wc. (scotland, Ireland etc.)

Unfortunately I can predict the squads of the future. Sorry. However, I have got all the teams. I can't get the correct kits, however, thanks to create player and squad management modes, I have added Ireland and Bermuda. Ireland are Chairman's XI, although it is not like the real kit, it is a green shirt with gold trousers, like the Irish flag. And Bermuda are Duke's XI, as their kit is blue and red. It also has the correct groups.

Group A
Australia
South Africa
Scotland
Holland

Group B
India
Sri Lanka
Bangladesh
Bermuda

Group C
England
New Zealand
Kenya
Canada

Group D
West Indies
Pakistan
Zimbabwe
Ireland

At a press confernce Brian Lara was asked about West Indies chances at the World Cup:

"Well, I think Australia will be the favourites, but being the host nation we will do well and have a great chance. But at the momment we're just concerntrating on the opening match against Pakistan, who will be a tough test."

Another reporter asked how batsman Pagon was selected insead of Lawson.

"We believe that Pagon is a talented youngster, Lawson could still have a part to play, so let's leave it at that."

At Heathrow, Michael Vaughan was asked about the surprise selection of Bopara and no place for Irishman Joyce, who will now have to play for Ireland not England.

"Bopara is a really good prosect for the future...Joyce will get a chance, but we feel he should play for Ireland first and we can see how he does."

Asked on England's chances Vaughan replied, " I think this our best chance in years and I believe we have the abilty to do very well"

More to come!

Horsely, Cornelius and Fulton all earned their first call up to the national side. Horsely and Fulton were slight surprises, but did have a good recent domestic season. Cornelius has been knocking on the door for a while and has forced his way into the national side after an another strong domestic season. When asked, "When I got the call I was delighted to have the chance to represent my country and I will repay the selectors faith."

PS.I have at the moment actually played three matches, it's just a case of writing them up. There will be a lull next week as I will be on holiday.

You're first match is against Pakistan. :) Will you play the warm up games as well?

And will there be some contract disputes involved if you choose West Indies? lol.

Yes I have played that, unfortunately, when I started this I knew the groups, but I didn't know the fixtures. The first three are WIN V PAK, AUS V RSA, ZIM V IRE. I have not played warm up matches, I should of, good idea. I'm guessing the contract dispute will have been settled by then.
