England In India - October 2011/12

Yes, I would rather have Kohli than Raina. Even though Kohli was super flop in WI series, he still has better technique than Raina and also can come in handy with his medium pace. I would keep Mishra as the spinner, as he is now aware of the conditions, where Ojha would be totally unaware from it. Mishra can also bat ( a little bit). This would be my team:

Sehwag
Gambhir
Dravid
Sachin
Laxman
Kohli
Dhoni
Mishra
Praveen
Ishant
Zaheer

Well India are sure to miss Harbhajan's batting (and occasional offspin) and Yuvi's bowling (and occasional slogging). A bad day to be called Singh.

Ashes

Two matches and the excitement is over for you? Wonder how the Aussies must have felt having rapped you Poms day in day out in all those Ashes series.

This is THE best comment in this thread. Well done Sai!

But we have to remember that England is and probably always was a Football Country. Truth be told, the better athletes in England choose Football most of the time.

Managed to watch the final couple of days last night and wow, what a turn around. Dead chuffed with how we turned it around, even if India let their foot off the gas we played damn well.

Big runs for Morgan they were, I'm still not convinced by him in Tests, but I think he should be persevered with, he's got some serious talent. Not too many other concerns, Swann's not done much, but the best batting line up in the world hasn't scored more than 280 odd in 4 innings, not really been needed.

Some of the attempts at playing the short ball by some of the India players was quite sad, on the other hand Jimmy's ball to Laxman is something you can watch over and over.

Time to go for the kill.

he still has better technique than Raina
We'll have to wait and see. He seemed sure enough when he knew the ball was short, but I don't think he likes the ball to bounce off a length (not that any batsman particularly loves that). They did have some uncommon pitches in the West Indies, but Raina did make a fair amount of runs. Though his technique has been put on notice for far too long, you have to give him some credit.

3rd test will be the real test for England. Full Indian team up for the 3rd test and if England beats them in this test then they are surely better than them. Sehwag and Gambhir opening and Zak back in the game. This is the real challenge for England not the depleted team they faced in the first two tests.

If they are all excuses then you should have no problem with my post as you should just believe that England will be able to do it again easily like they did in the first two tests. When someone someone ignores the facts then they are classified as excuses but when they oppose that same fact then that changes it to the Truth. You proved it. :D
