England In India - October 2011/12

I'm concerned about Harbhajan's spot. His once-in-a-while good spells aren't worth the filth he throws up too often. But Mishra has done nothing to inspire confidence either.

Same with Ishant; we must not forget what trip he bowled in the first innings till he clicked here.

Only edge Ishant has is that he's young. Bhajji can't say that.

Not to mention that he bowled the lollipop delivery to Prior to get Gambhir injured. :p

Anyway, England should look into batting for a maximum of 10 overs and get 50-60 runs and have a crack at India from then. 141 overs left for the test match, take away two for the change in innings - yep 10 overs at the most.

I'd like to give Ashwin a chance in this format. Ishant just needs to learn quickly, he's doing it. I mean he adapts to the conditions a bit late, maybe? That can be sorted, I'm sure. Harbhajan's attitude puts me off really. Acts like he's got all the wickets when he hasn't done anything at all!

What's the theory behind Sachin batting at number 7? I can't get that.

Because he's been off the field with an internal issue he's not allowed to bat until either 5 wickets have fallen or the same amount of time as he had off the field has elapsed.

He's been off the field for so long so that he can't bat before that the same amount time has allotted in the Indian innings or 5 wickets have fallen (whichever comes first).

Thanks guys.

So, it's about 4 odd hours the others have to bat to get Sachin to bat at 4. Too much maybe? But, I hope that happens actually and 5 wickets don't fall too quickly.

Sachin is back on the field now and is fielding. Feel bad that he has to do it with his viral fever.

Wish Ashwin gets a chance or even Mishra ahead of Harbhajan.

Now look at that reaction from him (Harbhajan). And, hear what commentators are talking. This guy just needs to get out of here. Yea, come on Broad, what a shot!

If god forbid Gautam gets injured then I feel no need of calling Murali Vijay. I will open with Dravid and give Yuvraj a go.

Or if you want an opener then go for Wasim Jaffer. But I have a feeling they might go with Parthiv :p

I agree about Ashwin, he's a good thinker and he can back that up with the bowling too. If he was to be given a good run, he has a lot of potential to grow and become a regular.

Ishant's still learning as you said, and the adapting process is slow in the glorious Indian way.

Broad looks brilliant right now, amazing what confidence can do for you.

Ain't Ashwin in Chennai too? [along with Vijay]

I am not talking about this series. I am talking on the lines of long-term

I guess Dravid might open with Mukund in the 2nd innings today itself. Gambhir should not come out today and should have the entire night's rest and see how his elbow acts up tomorrow. If its better and the injury is not too bad, then he can come out at one down or two down. Sachin most likely will be out at No.7. Send the likes of Raina and Dhoni ahead and keep the likes of Sachin and Gambhir back.

England look like they're going for it now. Prior looks like he's in a limited overs match, expect him to get out soon.
