England vs Sri Lanka - First Test :: Sponsored by Marcus Trescothick's Cricket Coach

Just look how Jayawardenen performed in the warm-up matches compared to the other batsmen. Kapugedara performed very well, but he got a golden duck. It shows that form from warm-up matches sometimes don't give a good indication.

Maharoof eventually went out for 59 runs. He could have stayed a lot longer, if he had the patience. He became a bit overjoyuous after cracking two fours.

And Aussie1st may start to worry if Sri Lanka is still batting at the end of the day. ;)

Oh..... S Mahmood striked again with two quick wickets  ..... I m wondering wht is Freddy doing....

I also wanted England to finish SriLanka today itself!!!! :upray

Congrats Ste this game is all yours!

This could get interesting, England only need 4 wickets and they should win it. Surely Sri Lanka won't screw up another punter!

Well, you never know with England. Before you know it, they even lose the match. Especially since Sri Lanka has Muralitharan.

And I see that being reflected in the renewed odds of that match in the vBookie.

Lol Sri Lanka won't be winning this one. The Lords pitch looks to be flat as a deck. Only results are a draw and English win.

Jayawardena was not to his best form recently..... whoooooopssssssss...whts is going on....."Come on freddy...Take some wickets"...
I think Paul Colngwd going to strike with few wickets ;) :happy

i have said it once, i will say it again, never drop class.

Jayawardene averages about 200+ at Lords (ok hes only had a couple of games there, but still ..come on he is the captain, its Lords, people perform at Lords, thats why England rarely win, because touring players want to get their names up on the board and its the recognised "home of cricket"

congratulations Ste, that is the perfect team, i expected samaraweera and maharoof, to be in the wickets and the runs to challenge you, buy it seems unless strauss can get back out to bat (and his ankle is sore) its all over.

so grats on picking the right 5 batsmen and mahmood :)

by the way the forecast for tomorrow is torrential rain in many parts of England, including Lords, but the weathermen have got it wrong before.

If Sri Lanka have hung in tough here for a draw, its going to really give them a lift.

Most of my players have done well barring Flintoff(was a mistake picking him as captain). But I still have a decent chance of doing well if Dilshan does well today seeing that most of the members havent picked him.Other than that perhaps the only mistake I might have made was not picking Mahmood or Tresco, otherwise Im reasonably happy with my team. Now that its been mentioned Ste's team does look as favorites to win.

Everyone is talking about STE's team and i just checked his team and then compared my team with him and i think if he got chance to win this one then i got chance to be at 2nd place. Here is the team

My Team :

Kevin Pietersen (bonus)
Alastair Cook
Andrew Strauss
Marcus Trescothick
Mahela Jayawardene
Kumar Sangakkara
Paul Collingwood (Bonus)
Andrew Flintoff (Captain)
Muttiah Muralitharan (Bonus)
Matthew Hoggard (Bonus)
Chaminda Vaas

STE's Team :

Alastair Cook
Marcus Trescothick
Paul Collingwood
Mahela Jayawardene
Kevin Pietersen
Kumar Sangakkara
Andrew Flintoff
Chaminda Vaas
Muttiah Muralitharan
Matthew Hoggard
Sajid Mahmood

Only Difference is " Strauss " with " Sajid Mahmood "
and then Bonus Players.

I will lose 1067 cause of the result of this match, but I don't mind, since I have some money left.

Aussie1st could be kicking himself for putting that much faith on England. :)

Congrats to James_W for winning this FC comp. I'm sure someone will double check my stats before the distribution of the prizes, especially since the difference between the top three is only 10 points.

2nd and 3rd are tied BTW. Would've been a mess for Ste if it were the top two that were tied. :p
