The fact is he has hardly done anything wrong to be dropped. It's just that he has played in difficult conditions and against difficult oppositions due to which his runs seem to have dried up for India. It's been the same for Kohli & Rahane as well.
I am not too sure about the conditions these matches are played in. But could be the case that these pitches are a little dry?
