Who is your county team?

That's a good idea actually, but if they got too much talent (like they are getting Indian internationals) it might embarrass The Hundred. That's unacceptable.

I expect most/all of the matches will be free on YouTube too.

Pretty much what I thought, the ECB might worry about it eating into The Hundred’s glam.

I do think there will be plenty of fringe Indian internationals who would be very keen on the tournament though. You get to play a bit of county cricket in addition to the List A competition and gain overseas exposure that the current crop do lack in comparison to the past stars of Indian cricket. This would help them gain access to international games given how much India seem to play these days.

This also further supplants my theory that India could be the Brazil of the cricket world with an actually strong league to retain the best talent too if they wouldn’t be so worried about NOCs for overseas T20 leagues.

The stint in county cricket did wonders for Ishant Sharma. It's probably what got Pujara back in the test team this summer (Rohit's absence helped with that too).

England have directly benefited from the IPL, BBL, PSL with players in these leagues. I can understand from a commercial perspective wanting to keep the IPL the only league you can see big name Indian players but there's always going to be a benefit from playing elsewhere and learning from different coaches.

Nathan Ellis may genuinely be the best in the world at this exact role. It's not always pretty but he's so good at it.

Fuller is really underrated too

And to think that the ECB is actively sabotaging this lovely tournament. With proper backing this could have been a tournament to rival the IPLs and PSLs of the world.

Three games a week on a free-to-air (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) plus finals day would have been/would be huge (all Blast games, save those that Sky broadcast, are currently streamed on YouTube anyway). I believe the counties had agreed to a two division system but the ECB just went ahead and did The Hundred instead.

Superb progress. Do you reckon that it dropping below 30 might be too much for the selectors?
