Europa League Thread

I'm actually really glad for him that its working

Didn't like him at Chelsea, don't really know why just didn't take to him.

Sometimes faces don't fit and his didn't, and their is no shame in that happening to him at Chelsea it happens to every manager there except Jose

Dontcha just love football? Spurs completely roast Inter in the first leg, then Inter return the favour, only for Spurs to sneak it on away goals. Can't see this Chelsea match being as dramatic which'll suit Lee I'm sure, but I'm in the mood for more drama!!! :D

Having said that... :D

Only Spurs could find a way to be 3-0 up and qualify on away goals :lol

AVB got it completely wrong though. Should have started 4-5-1 and packed the midfield. If Inter got a grip on things and pulled it back, the option for 4-4-2 would have been there. Instead he reverted to more defensive and lost options as the game wore on.

Didn't help much of course that Gallas is so far past it these days. Watching Inter just run off him all game was embarrassing at times. Surely has to be his last appearance in a Spurs shirt!

Spurs looked tactically very unbalanced with no pace on the flanks.

What I found to be extremely puzzling on that night was his persistence in playing such a high defensive line given it was clearly 0% effective throughout. Cassano and Palacio absolutely mauled your lot courtesy of that.

Hope Cassano's performance over the two legs hasn't been overlooked by Prandelli. Yes, they lost the first leg 3-0, but Cassano was brilliant on that occasion as well.

Spurs in a bit of a pickle here and what kind of a miss was that by Parker? Could be crucial.

It finally happened, the Europa league has now potentially destroyed our season. Looks like Bale will be out for the season now. The really worrying thing is we threw away points against Liverpool, were thrashed by Inter, never in the game against Fulham and outplayed for 70mins by Swansea. Now we've drawn at home to a decent Basel team where we've conceded 2 away goals and been completely unable to control the ball for 30mins once Dempsey and Ade were up top. With Lennon, Bale and Defoe potentially out we're more buggered than an Eastern European prostitute.

Everton still have visits to Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool pending in their run-in. Need a miracle to finish fourth in all fairness.

Typical that an Everton fan would talk about nicking things.

I'm pretty sure stealing it is the only we can get it. We certainly can't pick up enough points to finish there on merit.

I've drawn up a few loose schemes but my South-Eastern Latvian accent has deteriorated due to a lack of usage over the last 3 years so I'm not particularly confident that they will work.

Just stick to doing what everyone else in Liverpool does. Robbing Liverpool players houses when they're playing :p
