Europa League Thread

too many false dawns at united this season to think the improved performance against west ham of kagawa, mata and rooney will last.

that said, for all the focus on midfielders, van persie etc etc it's defensively they've played like mid-table club.

Watching the Porto vs Sevilla game, I can see why Man City & a few premier league clubs want Eliaquim Mangala - looks a beast & everything you would want in a modern defender: Real pace, athletic & very strong.

Disappointing semi final defeat for Juve. They just haven't been able to step up in Europe in recent seasons.

Will be interesting to see if they can keep this squad together next season & how they improve it. Pirlo not getting younger & PSG seems to want Pogba badly.

Who'd wanna Mbia Valencia fan right now :lol

No goals over two hours of football. It's time for the dreaded penalty shoot out, then. There were about 12 guys down due to cramp at the same time =P

Advantage Sevilla! SLB are crumbling! Brilliant from Beto!

Sevilla are the champions ! The Guttmann curse continues for Benfica!

Ye Benefica' s EURO finals failures, reminds me of the Indian cricket team losing in various ODI tournament finals in the 2000s.

That Rakitic looks a very good player.

I am not sure if I am right , but weren't the 2 penalty stops by Beto illegal? I mean , wasn't he off his line?

The Cardozo one definitely was! The only time I've seen a spot kick being revoked in such a case was back in 2003-04 at Anfield against Chelsea, when Owen hit the post initially with Cudicini well outside, then retook it again and scored :D (we lost 2-1 though)

Off to lille next week
How was it?

Watched a little bit of it on ITV4.

Also...Here's Lamela's goal last night if you missed it, pure class.
