The West Indies dominated when mainly just 3 Nations played proper Cricket Australia,England and West Indies. The Australians are dominating when there are 8 Nations playing it.So see the difference

India and Pakistan all had good teams during that time. They were on the level of what New Zelanad and West Indies were during Australias dominance and Sri Lanka wasn't the best test side during the 90s.

West Indies domination had ended by by the 90's.India and Pakistan did'nt have enough good teams that time.India just had quite of spin bowling but fast bowling for India that time was just crap.

Shub, you don't even know how many World Cups Australia has won so I don't see how you can be an authority on the subject.

ICC Official WOrld Cups,Australia've got 3 and you're no one to judge that whether i can be an authority or no please Move on.I can't say what i wanted to tell you but i had to replace that with move on.

Didn't Sohum just say Aus had 4 official ICC World Cups? Or are their 'unofficial' World Cups as well?

No, there aren't. The ICC was formed in 1909, they just changed their name to the International Cricket Council in 1989. He's fighting a losing battle.

Just going back to the last page, you cannot possibly say that Hayden's bat in 2003 is equal to the ones in the 1980s. More research is done into the bats now, to get the maxium strength but make it light.

Fair enough, you could possibly say that Hayden's bat in 03 and the ones used in the 1980s and 90s were as strong as each other, but I am nearly 100% sure that the ones in the 80s and 90s were a lot heavier, and thus, harder to use?

But to be hoenst this entire thread is useless. Unless we have some imaginary game in our minds with the old WI greats in their prime and the Australians in their prime playing against each other... then well that will be one hell of a series.

Nope 1987 Triumph was the Reliance World up it was'nt the ICC Cricket World Cup

It's still a world cup and we have 4 of them.

Feelin Blue? added 0 Minutes and 42 Seconds later...

lol shub I suggest you stop with this World Cup argument because you've lost with every post you've made.

Who cares I lost but the fact reamains is that Aussies>Windies

lol and when did we establish that. at least ben argues it you come out of nowhere and just say that.
I suggest you look into the history of WI cricket a little better.

I dont think Windies would be able to beat Australia. It's because Windies put pretty much no money into cricket and Australia spend a lot of money. Just the sheer training and the coaching and everything I just dont think Windies would be able to compete. The teams weren't as good back then either. Thats my opinion so dont bother arguing. I just wish the West Indies were able to come back and Mcgrath, Warne and Gilchrist came back. We need an anti ageing pill!
