This is a fairplay creed which every PC user should follow if they wanna play the game in good spirit.

1)I wont bowl 6 consecutive yorkers unless it is the penultimate overs(15th-20 for T20, 40th-50 for ODI or 5th over of a 5 over game). A maximum 3 yorkers per over and 2 consecutive yorkers only. Can bowl third consecutive yorker only when on a hat-trick.

2) No wideline. Not more than 3 players in the outfield on a particular side. You can have 3 on the offside and 2 on the leg side boundary and vise-versa.

3)No quitting unless there is lag.

4)No custom fields.

5)No day 5 pitches, default conditions only.

If you agree to the above three creeds then select yes in the public poll and post your id's in the thread. Poll is useful coz that way other members can see which users follow the creed.

You could always come down the track to a yorker.

That would stop your opponent from bowling it because you will likely get good enough bat on the ball to send it to the boundary each time.

Yes we can dance down the track but game gets monotonous. We all like to play all the shots in the book. Not just the dance down the track. So a game where some balls are yorkers, some short pitch, some outside off etc is a good game. There we can play most of the shots and enjoy the game.

P.S: I thought there were more fair players at PC:eek:. At the moment only stevie is a fair player;)...

I can't seem to find any online matches sitting in Canada... someone wanna try through username search?

I am all up for fair play...

Guys , help me compile the list of unfair players too.

I don't like rules 1 and 2. Yorkers are easy and can be hit. If I manage to find a length with a medium pacer that my opponent struggles with, I should be able to exploit that to win. How are yorkers any different? By banning yorkers you are essentially saying you cannot exploit your opponent's weakness, which is just wrong.

And with the field settings, what if you have someone constantly slogging it over the legside? Or over the offside? You should retain the right to set the fields as you like. Great thing about AC09 is the legside deliveries can be hit offside and vice versa, it just takes some skill.

This is ridiculous, we know how to play properly without sticking to rules like this. Yeah there are some things that shouldn't be done maybe. Packing one side of the field and bowling very wide maybe (something i have been accused of). However i did this for the last wicket only, and it was because of other exploits being used against me.

I also did it so the fearless batsmen would take a single and allow me to use a default attacking field against the tail ender. Not so unrealistic any more.

I've played around 9 matches before, and only slightly questionable tactics have been used in 1 of those games.

jan52, deathrevenge9, dutchad !! please post your Game ID's too so tha other can add you.

Rule1 is made to make the matches realistic. How many times you have seen whole Indian bowling lineup bowling yorkers after yorker for 20 overs??? Baring Zaheer not other bowler has skill to do that. So in Ashes if a player bowls like that then how realistic is that. Moreover, the game would then be limited to certain scoring shots and a particular area in the field only. That would be boring.

Rule2 is universally accepted to be as bad as the widish yorkers of BLIC 07. I was not so sure bout bodyline part as i dont know if we can remove fielding restrictions or not?? In BLIC you can set a bodyline field. Not sure if that is possible in ashes. Though you are still allowed to place fielders in the outfield but not more than three on a side.

P.S: Good to see now we have 9 fair players.:banana2:banana2

Why not bouncers?

I never said anything bout limiting bouncers;). I only said to limit the number of fielders on a particular side in the outfield:spy. If that is clear then can we have you in fair players colin:p??

Well i ordered the game from US and still didnt got it yet.Just playing around with demo and checking planet cricket website. Iwill post it when i get the game on PC.Also what about bowling yorkers in 10 over match and also what about fielders on mad on and mad off with offside or legisde

I'm signing up to the Fairplay Creed. My username is, unsurprisingly, NICK_GIFF.

I'm pretty smug that my coining of the term 'wideline' has already come into widespread use. :p
