Assaidi would be worth a gamble as an impact sub. No more than 4-5m pounds though.
As for how I score goals. Generally just like you said, just with my back facing the marker, a quick turn and a shot. However, I am starting so see a lot more spaces open when I just pass it around for fun and then the lofted through ball becomes very useful for headers and volleys.

Just started one up with Spurs.
I haven't properly sorted out online yet, so I'm just wondering... where on earth is the virtual pro stuff? The beauty of Spurs is always the fact they have no strikers

Just got news that I've won the PL title, in March, how realistic.

6 games in 12 days with a 14 day break to follow, some genius scheduling right there.
The weird rescheduling the game does is certainly puzzling.

In my first season Man City were 3 points ahead of Man Utd with one game to go. I (Norwich) had to go to Eastlands on the last day. United won 2-1 at West Brom and I won 3-0 against City (deflected free kicks, very lucky goals) and United won the title on goal difference!

I always like it when the scheduling gets tough as I get to use my younger players 
So far liking the start of my career mode. The game feels more free-flowing that the last one. Perhaps easier than the last FIFA. Comfortably won my first 4 games on World Class. Might have to go up to legendary earlier than usual.
Spent all my money on youth by bringing in Mibaye from Inter as sub left back. Wellington Nem, the Ox for 10m (to Spurs, hmm, still some issues with realism) and Leandro.
Annoyed I can't flog the guys I started with who had just been signed. Adebayor and Siggurson would be off otherwise. Although gave Sig a run in the league cup and he promptly smashed home a free kick
For the first time in about 5 football games Defoe isn't useless and is actually awesome.
Finally, seems like youth players still improve without having to play every game unlike the last one. Which is nice as Andros Townsend seems to be much better than his stats suggest and could well end up awesome.

Yep, I suppose without proper fatigue and injuries it's the only way you'll feel obliged to not use a consistent first XI.
Ox going to Spurs isn't THAT unrealistic. Arsenal probably weren't powerful enough to suppress the little boy inside him

Certainly in the last one, if there was ever games in short succession, it always meant you absolutely smashed the cpu due to them not really rotating their players. You could put out a weaker but fully fit team, and with 20 minutes to go you'd run riot as the opposition would all have no stamina bars left

Well, all my young players with high potential are out on loan, should have them back at the end of the season though.

How/Where do you make your scouts work?
Right now I'm thinking Germany for a "defensive minded" player, England for a goalkeeper, Spain for a playmaker. Once those 9 months are over perhaps a striker in Ghana (that worked brilliantly for me in FIFA 12).

After you pay for your scout you should get a message from him saying something along the lines of "I'm ready to set up", so set him up. Think you do that by going back into your Office -> Youth Academy -> Scouting Network -> there you should see all the scouts you've hired thus far.
I don't think the places matter too much, but always, always look for keepers in Germany.
