Firefox 4.0 Beta 1 Released

ok i said ie is not as good as any other browser and you said "I certainly don't agree with that either."
Again very simply, just because it isn't better than everything (which is what you asked) doesn't mean it isn't 'as good as any other browser'.

That round goes to MattW. :)

Personally, I don't find IE8 usable. It may be something with the way my computer was configured out of the box (I didn't go through the process of reinstalling Windows on my laptop because it doesn't have a optical drive) but my IE8 pretty much stops responding whenever I try to browse to a new page. It is completely reproducible. I haven't bothered finding out why it happens because my only use for IE8 is for VPN.

I am posting this message from this new browser which "sucks". Even Google Chrome's first BETA was better than this crap.

The best browser is Internet Explorer and Google Chrome. Since, Chrome also supports plugins hence Firefox will suck afterwards.

I also used IE9 (PP) and it is far better than this new Firefox 4.0 CrapETA 1.

The fact that you preferred a platform preview to beta released software doesn't really put a lot of weight behind your opinion.

The Firefox 4 Beta doesn't suck. If you didn't like Firefox to begin with, that's a different story altogether. But if you liked Firefox and don't like Firefox 4, then your statements are ridiculous given the largest changes have come in the UI and that you can get the old UI back with 2-3 clicks.

Lets be honest, when was Hitterman's opinion on anything taken with my regard? I'd assume the same stance here.

Quite like the beta, had a play on it on my guest account on my laptop (got Chrome on my main account) and its pretty decent, like the new look, once the plugins and what not start to be rolled out for it, it should be pretty good and I'll take the leap.

The only thing stopping me using it is the sheer effort it'll take to move all my bookmarks/username & passwords over to the beta. I'd rather wait till full release and do it once.

All the bookmarks and passwords should've been automatically moved over since they are stored in Application Data. I think the two Firefoxes just share them. I noticed some stuff transfer over, but not sure if everything did.

You should probably wait for a release version to come over before properly switching anyways.

well if it is not better than ANY of chrome(ium),firefox, opera(which are the poular current browsers) so it means it is worst of current browsers

Again, not being better than ALL, which is what the > symbol suggests, is not the same as ANY.

How about you explaining with some actual facts why IE8 is so bad.

Will you drop it already? You have no point.

I noticed that you are a fan of chrome. I hope that you are aware that it sends data on which sites you visit to google unless you turned off the address bar type in suggestions. The only reason they developed a browser is to gather more data on browsing habits and strengthen their monopoly in the search engine business.

dropped it :p

The whole point is again that IE8 is not worse than the other browsers, each browser has its own strengths, what browser suits you depends on what you need.

There is no single factor on which to call any of the browsers the best anymore, even pure rendering time depends on the site, with no consistently always faster browser.

As you're made no actual arguments against anything I've said, I'd just suggest you're being an anti-Microsoft troll, and not actually looking at anything objectively.

My two cents:

IE has come along humongously since IE6 which is still used by some :facepalm. I think it should be commended for that.

Personally I don't like some of its usability compared to the other browsers, and its look. They all seem about the same speed, though I find Chrome is the quickest to start up.

You can't judge a browser based on one aspect alone, and certainly not Acid 3 test results.

I am glad you mentioned that. Acid 3 is viewed as the ultimate benchmark for browsers, which it certainly isn't.

IE has improved drastically since the horrid IE6 days.
