The Victoria Bushrangers started really well with both, captain, Hashim Amla (69) and Usman Khawaja making fifties. Their partnership was finally broken at 137 by Angelo Mathews. Still, Khawaja looked well set for a hundred. But it was not to be, as he was given out on 98. After his wicket, no one really stuck in as Victoria were bowled out for 283 in the first innings of the First Melbourne Derby.
Neil Wagner took 4 wickets and was the best bowler for Melbourne Thunder.

That was an amazing start for us. Wagner was amazing to get the 4 wickets and reduce them to below 300. Then everyone from our batting unit chipped in. Unfortunated for ABD to miss on century but very well played by our batsmen as we got a healthy lead. In the second innings, Amir got a fifer and made sure the lead was not out of hand. It was easy for Vijay on 2nd innings.
Very good team performance by us. Hopefully we continue like this.

Although, Latham was soon sent back by captain Ashwin, Younis Khan came to the crease with a mission and stayed stuck at one end while wickets kept falling at the other. 506 was no small target for the Multiply Titans. They started off horribly as David Warner fell once again to his arch rival, Trent Boult. Then, Martin Guptill (38) and Alaistar Cook (75) came together and stitched a 117 run partnership before Mitchell Marsh was finally able to send Cook back to the pavilion. Then, Ajinkya Rahane (72) gave some hope to the Titans, but wickets kept falling and they were eventually bundled out for 329 succumbing to a 176 run defeat. Trent Boult was the destroyer in chief as he took 4 wickets.

Good to see all the players contributing. I had picked some players with a plan of utilizing them accodding to my needs and it has worked well so far. Tom Latham is undoubtedly one of the best cricketers New Zealand has ever produced. Bowlers did a fine job of restricting them to low score below the actual target our team had set. As a result, we got a big lead on the wicket that had something for the bowlers than batsmen.

NAILBITER! KKR needed 418 runs to win, and they scored 414 out of them. Virat Kohli was not yet done with his batting. He came out and went for the target making 175 from 169 balls. He, along with Lokesh Rahul (90) , stitched a 152 run partnership for the 4th wicket. Then, a collapse started and KKR were reduced to 331/7. Then, their pace spearheads, Broad and Starc came together to make a 67 run partnership when Starc was sent back by Dilruwan Perera. Even after that, the thrill continued as Broad took the team to 406 when he was sent back by Dhananjaya de Silva of all bowlers. Mustafizur came and played like a true tailender and slashed at every ball, and he did well, scoring 2 boundaries. KKR only need 3 when Imran Khan finally trapped Tabraiz Shamsi in front and completed a great victory. Imran Khan and Dilruwan Perera both took 4 wickets each.
Virat Kohli deserved to win more than just the Man of the Match award. His contributions of 203 and 175 in both the innings were just superhuman. Just 3 more runs did he need to win it.
