FM11: Real Madrid - Its 'Special' this time!

Hehehe. We pay in chocolates to kids :p

@AP:Football Manager 11 has a new 3D engine that is brilliant, and Fifa Manager 11 has plenty of bugs, so Football Manager 11 will be better.

Vaughan, you can also sign Emile Heskey or Miroslav Klose who are quite cheap.

Haha, apparently Heskey wore a t-shirt underneath his match shirt during the matches immediately after his son was born, it said something about his son being born which he was going to show while celebrating a goal. Unfortunately, his son was about 5 months old before anybody saw this message. :facepalm

I guess i should get football manager then

Real madrid look like they have some tough opponents to kickstart their season. it will be interesting to see how they go with a few new members to the squad. Lets hope they can perform well enough for you to aim for being the dominant football club in the league

Ricardo Carvalho completes Bernabeu move

Real Madrid have completed the signing of Portugal centre-back Ricardo Carvalho from Chelsea.

The 32-year-old moves to the Bernabeu for a reported fee of €8 million and will be re-united with Jose Mourinho, who has managed his compatriot during spells at Chelsea and Porto.

Carvalho flew in to Madrid last night before passing a medical this morning in the Spanish capital.

The Portuguese was then presented to the Spanish media after signing a two-year contract.

He said: "I've wanted to come here for a long time. Mourinho is a winning manager and I have come to a winning club."

Carvalho becomes the fifth summer signing at the Spanish club with Sami Khedira, Pedro Leon, Angel di Maria and Sergio Canales all linking up with Mourinho as he looks to wrestle the Spanish title from bitter rivals Barcelona in his first season in charge.

Carvalho will compete with Pepe, Raul Albiol and Sergio Ramos for a place at the heart of Los Blancos defence.

Carvalho played over 100 times for Chelsea during a six-year spell which saw him win three Barclays Premier League winners' medals.

The former Porto man feels he will have no trouble adapting his game to the Spanish league.

"The speed of the game is different here to England, where the game is quicker," he said.

"I think it was harder for me to adapt to English football than it will for me to adapt to the Spanish game because it is so similar to the Portuguese league."

Carvalho knows his experience will prove vital to the Spanish side after the departures of club legends Raul and Guti following the team's failure to win La Liga under previous manager Manuel Pellegrini.

"I have spoken with Mourinho about my role as a senior player here on the pitch," said the defender.

"A lot of important players have left this year.

"I want to help Madrid win as much as I can."

Tottenham complete signing of Real Madrid's Rafael van der Vaart

rafaelvandervaartrealma.jpg

Tottenham Hotspur have completed the ?11M million signing of World Cup finalist Rafael van der Vaart from Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The player was linked with a move out ever since Real signed German midfielder Mesut Ozil from Werder Bremen. And even though new boss Jose Mourinho expressed his liking for the player, Real decided to accept the bid from the North London based outfit.

However it is being rumoured that the club and the player agreed that he would not be sold to a direct rival which is probably why bids from the likes of Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich were not entertained.

Real have signed up six new players this summer, but have also seen several names bid farewell to the Bernabeu including club icons such as Raul Gonzalez and Guti Hernandez. Van der Vaart, while not sharing that long a relationship with the 31-time La Liga winners, did become a fan favourite last season, after putting in several match winning performances.

Van der Vaart could return to the Bernabeu as early as this very season though if Tottenham and Real Madrid cross paths in the competition.

Looking forward to following this one. Should be good to see how FM plays out for you.

You do know that there is a suspension error in Spain and that instead of 5 yellow cards to earn a suspension its 2?

Stealing one of my chelsea boys. Ricardo is a great defender and will serve Real Madrid well. At least selling Rafael van der Vaart gave you a bit of extra money to search for a replacement

It would be nice to see the final lineup of Real Madrid after the transfer window closes.
