FOOTBALL Football Manager Discussion

Maybe change the taker? :p

Is this better than FM2010?

Penalty misses:

danny higginbottom - penalty taking 17
Marc wilson - two misses - penalty taking 16
Steven Defour - two misses - penalty taking 15
Eidur gudjohnsen - penalty taking 13

best 4 penalty takers at the club have all had goes and missed. utterly frustrating, as 3 out of 4have been scored against me.

Also went out of the league cup on pens, despite scoring 4 out of my first 5 in the shoot-out.

Played the demo and its superb however there a a few bugs at the moment. I'd personally wait till they have them all sorted.

yeh, like penalties :spy

haha that is unlucky.

My plan against Inter just completely backfired. We were on the backfoot all game, didn't have a single chance and deservedly lost 2-0. Fans not happy with a toothless performance.

I don't know why, but the Wolves are really hard in the game.

lost 5-0 at home to wolves. and 4-1 away.

For some reaons the stoke fans view them as minor rivals, so that was quite embarrassing.

Although I was down to 9 men at half-time, and was unlucky to go behind when I was down to 10. (they scored 4 in the last 20 minutes)

Still waiting for my copy after a lack of bank funds caused my order to be delayed. Hoping it will be here tomorrow.

The missus is going to love me ranting at linesmen at 1 o'clock in the morning seeing as she hasn't experienced the great frustrations of Football Manager yet.

Another reason why I really stopped playing it the last few years :D

Broke the 2008 FM in half in frustration. I've done in 2 PS3 controllers playing MLB the Show. Hanging curveballs have so far cost me ?70....

Those moments are well and truly made up for the moments of elation though. At those times a fist pump just doesn't do it justice :p

Currently deciding on my first save. I had a Palace and Spurs save on the demo, so I may just continue my Spurs save as I barely got into it. Either that or I do a wonderful world journey beginning unemployed.

LOL - Yeah, you go and tell someone you've won the Premiership with Brighton and they strangley don't seem to have the same enthusiasm as you!

I'd start again. I'm gonna go buy this tomoz. Trade in Fifa and get the new COD.

I think the Newcastle job looks quite attractive...

You don't know enough of the right sort of people.

I often send/receive text messages based on the recent promtions/cup wins to/from friend's.

I may have overused the "/" in that sentence, but I don't care/am too lazy to change it.

Same here. "I've just got 8th in the Premiership with WBA guys!" and all I'm met with is awkward silences and the shuffling of feet as people edge away.

Spurs a fun team to use?

Yeah, when we click we play some great football. Modric as the classic number 10, vdv as the deep lying playmaker with Keane on the right and Bale/Kranjcar on the left. The other CM is usually either Huddlestone or Palacious and I have them as deep-lying playmakers as well. I alternate my forward based on the situation.

I'm trying to play high pressing, short passing, quick tempo football. My defence is letting me down though. Gallas is out for 5 months, King keeps getting little niggles and I've found that Bassong is much better suited to left back ahead of the incompetent Assou-Ekotto. So basically I'm playing very similar to my North London rivals.

Managed to scrape a 1-0 away to Benfica which will do my chances of getting through the group stages a world of good. After a slight slip of form, we hit back with an emphatic 4-0 win over Newcastle. I'd like to take credit for that because I tweaked my tactics slightly before the match haha.

They sound alright. Might be tempted to have a go with spurs eventually.

For now I've taken over previously unplayable Kingstonian. They were promoted from 5th spot. Worst of all the promoted teams in BSN/BSS. Looking forward to it.
