FTP: From the Pavilion general chat

I've been offered $200,000 maximum from GM-deltronzero for this player. I've told him he's close to a bowling pop since he is gifted bowling, been on bowling technique training for 6 weeks and he is on bowling training for tomorrows training session since he popped in technique last week. What should I do? Sell him for $200,000 now knowing that other people will offer less since he isn't reasonable or wait until he's reasonable then sell him for maybe 100-200K more... Or keep him. I reckon with his valuation of the most he will pay (200K), I could start him there and I'll probably get 250K or so. Or wait until he pops to reasonable, start it at 250K and hope to get 300-400K.

lol at Sorabhjee, ordinary for batting, bowling, keeping, fielding and endurance but wrecks it by having average technique and poor power. Just decrease one level of the technique and increase the power by one level and he'll be all ordinary.

If you're certain you can get more after he pops in bowling, then by all means hold off till then. That's what I'd do. But you might want to go with someone who's played the game for longer than I have.

haha, good find, even I don't knew it.:p

Might be a silly question but Is it necessary to reveal a players skills before putting him on sale?

nah, it balabhart Prashanta.:p

No. That wouldn't be much use. Buy a player based on his rating and wage not to mention he has dreadful skills with legendary fielding and expert endurance.

I would instead go for any player who have an average fielding with being accomplished in batting/bowling. and yeah, ratings and wages are surely the important factors because it seems that my player wages are going to be higher than my sponsorship.:(

lol. I'm trying to point out that it wouldn't be good if when someone is transfer listed, their skills aren't shown.

I wouldn't be worrying about wages being higher than sponsorship. Gate receipts would make up the difference, the ground maintanence fee and probably promise you 20-30K a week to spend on academies, transfers or save up.

My player wages are $128,237 while my sponsorship is only $85,725. I even managed to make a big profit this week considering I spend $10,000 on ground maintanence and $17,000 on academies. That means I need $70,000 in gate receipts a week to break even. I made $106,844 this week. I spent $33,000 on a new youth player though so I'm $3,000 up provided I don't end up getting AP's player. Why did I even place that bid?

Wages: 70.7k, ground maintenance 5k, academies 23k. Sponsorship 67.3k, gate takings 25.7k

Is it worth expanding my ground to say 7k? I think next season when I move up a level I'll start maxing out my ground.

Also, should I move countries to one with less leagues (i.e. Bangladesh)? Matches would be at a better time (I can come home from uni and follow them), and I'd probably be in the same division as I would be if I stayed.

If you moved to Bangladesh, you'll be in either Division 4 or 5. When I moved, I was in Division 4 for Youth and T20 and Division 5 for OD. The funny thing is, I'm in Division 3 for OD now and still Division 4 for Youth and T20.

Next season if I stay in New Zealand I'm in division 4 for SOD and division 5 for T20 and YOD.

Are the standard of teams higher or lower there? Or about the same do you reckon?

Just got thumped by Zorax by 8 wickets. Real poor bowling effort.

If you move countries, do you start back at the bottom? I'm guessing you would retain all your players.

You retain all your players but apart from that it's like starting again - you get put in the place of one of the computer controlled teams and replace them in all their leagues.

When I joined, I was given a computer controlled team and that team was so tweaking bad that it is hurting me so much now.

I need to win all my matches from here and expect the top teams to lose a few for standing a chance. So better luck to me next season.

Yea everyone is. I was just lucky that I joined the week before the new season started :)
