FTP: Season 2 - Road to the World Cup

@ Aussie Team: Spaces are filled so no.

Harrisb is taking over the Lankans as RDF hasnt come on PC for a while.

Simmed a few games to see how the abilities have gone, thought I'd post it so you guys also should see them as well.

A good response in general. The good players performed, Clarke overacheived, the rest did pretty well. Although Hussey and Haddins' averages have been inflated due to remaining unbeaten. The bowlers were okayish. Very few bowlers have got great averages, so its likely they we have more poor pitches this season

Bangladesh:

Decided to try a minnow nation out. Did work reasonably well. The players living upto their potentials and Bangladesh managing two wins (I cant remember against who) and put some amazing fights. On other days though they just folded easily. Ashraful was ordinary.

England:

KP continues from where he left last season and Collingwood was also among the runs. Keiswetter was a fail, only managed 2 50s in the last two games. Swann didnt live up to his abilities, and the sim continues to dislike Anderson. Wright turned out to be a handy allrounder.

India:

The top 4 were the beast with the bat, rarely did India falter with the batting. Kohli and Dhoni came up and played some handy cameos as well. The bowlers were were India faltered. Only HSingh did well, and I was expecting more from Zaheer.

New Zealand:

The Most-out-of sorts team. After being the one of the best ODI teams last season, they have struggled alot this time. Guptill has gone very slowly and lost more games then he won. The bowling has been very horrid and Vettori has been the weak link despite having the same abilities from last season. Mills has also failed to live up to the hype after last season.

Pakistan:

Been patchy. A couple of great games followed my some ordinary ones. No single player has stood out with the bat or the bowl. Alam is in good knick whereas the more experienced players havent got going. The bowling despite being one of the stronger nations, has been horrendous.

South Africa:

A Very, very strong looking team. The top 3 have been in great form and on the rare occasion they fail, AB comes to the rescue. The bowling is looking the strongest where Steyn takes wickets at will. Expect a much better season as this team looks to be one of the best.

Sri Lanka:

Overacheived. Beat the SA in the last 2 games I simmed putting up competitive totals and restricting thier much fancied opponents. Everyone puts their hands up when needed and look a well balanced unit. Jaysauriya has reinvented himself in the MO, and the bowlers have been good.

West Indies:

Things look very bright for the Windies. Their big players have performed and the likes of Pollard and Bravo have made some reasonable contributions. Ramdin has played some brilliant cameos, once he scored a 38 ball 72 (cant remember the opposition but they werent Bangladesh). Dave Mohammad has had an excellent season but the spinners generally do well in this sim. The quicks can improve though.

I think the way that I have ranked the players has been pretty good. Most of them are near their original ODI averages, with some players above or below that. Expect SA, AUS and WI to have good ODI campaign whereas NZL, PAK may struggle. ENG, IND, and SRI have gone reasonably well.

Please start posting your 25 Man squads for the 2 main formats, and bold those players that you would like to try out in the next few games I sim.

FFS, we done so crap.
I'll post my two squads tomorrow as I'm going to bed now. ;)

WI winning 11 matches, wtf?
Ramdin averaging 60 with a S/R of 93, I've now seen it all. :p

So do those matches impact on what is to come???
As you wrote "Expect SA, AUS and WI to have good ODI campaign whereas NZL, PAK may struggle."
Surely there is as much chance of us doing what we did last season, than there is us failing like we did then?

No they shouldnt. But it was to give you an idea of what you can expect. Although this may have nothing to do with what actually happens.
NZ have done well, but players like Guptill have been freakishly slow, eg, getting 60 of 90 and NZ due to that ending on 200 on normal track. The opposition chases it down with ease.

Hello everyone!
I'm the manager of the English team.
Does anyone want to swap teams with me?
I'm interested in New Zealand, Australia and India :)

what about sri lanka bcv, I really want to manage England as it's my home nation.

Ooh, Sri Lanka have the joint highest win Percentage, I'll post the squad in a few hours unless Bcvs is happy to switch teams.

LOL,not really a big fan of Sri Lanka but let see if the other owners (of the three teams i mentioned) are interested.

ok then, but just from looking at those stats above, Sri Lanka are right up there.

Ok,i don't really like SL but considering that managing team England means a lot to you,i'll swap teams Harris. :)

Thanks very much bcv, however, I'll look like a fool if SL go on to win everything this season.

And also, somebody else, from the teams that you wanted may want SL, so you might be able to manage a different team.
