Its just available in only 1-2 cities in the US for now. Google is testing it out before rolling it to other places.
If Google succeeds in rolling Fiber out for most of the US, it would be massive. Right now, certain ISP's are enjoying a monopoly and are restricting customers with their limited bandwidth, high prices. Hope Google can destroy that and let consumers freedom.
I do not think that any ISP are enjoying monopoly. I do not know which part you US you live but where I am currently living there are many companies and the plans are pretty nice and I would definitely pay $50 bucks for a 30mbps unlimited plan.
I am shifting to New Jersey and I asked them and Comcast or Xfinity isnt yet there. They still have Time Warner. What I am saying is with different places isolated places here the prices are damn high I agree but if you live in place where everything is near by or not so isolate you will find decent plan. BTW Google Fiber costs $70 monthly with $300 installation charge for 1 GBPS speed which obviously everyone would pay. They also have $120 plan which gives tv connection and all channels too which again is pretty good but still I think people would prefer paying $50 or $40 and save $30 as not all need 1GBPS speed and to be honest 10-25mbps speed is enough
It ain't google fiber but it is 1GB speed internet in startup Village provided by the government.I heard it is available in Kochi, India. So, if you have got much money,....
I love Bangladesh. We're content paying ~$20 for 1mbps and would be incredibly happy to get 2mbps at the same price. :')
Internet providers in America are terrible. A survey of internet users in America resulted in more than 50% saying they'd change providers if they were able to. In many places they only have access to one ISP and they just ramp up prices and restrict speeds.
I pay RS.700 for upto 4mbps unlimited.I love Bangladesh. We're content paying ~$20 for 1mbps and would be incredibly happy to get 2mbps at the same price. :')
