I have got a nice info...

There is a very easy way to get to the cricket 2004 main menu on intel 810e chipsets...

Edit the cricket2004.ini file located in mydocuments folder and set bitdepth to 8 then the game will automatically run in window mode and you will easily be able to get to cricket 2004 menu!!!

here is my c2k4.ini file and the are the options in it
Which one should i change to 8 bcoz there is nothing known as bitdepth in it

hmmmmmmmm this is very pleasign news and most likely they will have a tweak for this...some may ask y do u say that? well then ask away...since that is done, i think they will release it because they got alot of emails concerning this. Therefore they dont want the same problem with the uk version, so they may fix it when they release that and then for aus users send out a patch

1) BufferDepth=16 to BufferDepth=8

try this and the game will run in window mode automatically and you will be able to view the menu easily,the game will run, i'm not sure...

and another useful thing

2) don't change the buffer depth but change the buffer width and height to 320 and 240 respectively and the game will run in low resolution in fulscreen mode and may be it would run completely!

It does the same old thing - crashes to desktop

Do u have c2k4 installed ? How do u kow the options in th ini file?
Give me some more ways of making it work , if possible ?

Get a graphics card so that you meet the minimum requirements!

hehhe i didnt see anything here that helped rectify the problem except some 'assurances' from ea saying that they will 'tweak' the game.

what is needed here is a full-scale patch or a strong response from EA that this game does not work with intel chipsets or whatver the problem is.

I start cricket 2004 with 3d analyze withe the following options
Emulate Bump Map caps
Emulate pixel shader caps
Hw TnL
Reference Rast


When i use Reference Rast the game starts with EA sports video and intro video which i can hear but can not see it and the game goes to the menu of which i can hear the menu music
This is the only option using which i can reach the menus
The windowed mode does not work
If i can see the visuals , I can tell you whether the game works using the solution EA gave me .
Please tell me some solutions and remedies
If i start the game otherwise , it goes to the license screen and crashes out without the
EA SPORTS - ITS IN THE GAME video
and
Intro video with a catchy tune
Others too please try the reference rast option and see
What is this reference rast option

Which other options to be enabled or disabled to enable me to see the visuals as well

I could see the menus using 3danalyse with desktop window option enabled.

B) what does 3danalyse do ?

It scans the game file for 3d code and modifies it as you wish which makes it possible to run some games on your pc which didn't work earlier

Im a new user for cricket 04 and just read this post today. I have the same 810 chipset and the same problem of the game crashing to desktop. Adi, i really appreciate your efforts and I have immediately mailed EA too and waiting for a response. Hope they work it out quickly.
