Well my earphones just got spoiled and was thinking of buying headphones, which are more sturdy and would run more months. All of the earphones, don't last more than 2 or 3 months since I use them a lot, and I use them in packed Mumbai locals (Mumbai people would understand)

I was thinking of the JBL JO3B Tempo from Flipkart, but I want suggestions, thanks.

I have used JBL is the past and it is quite good. If you are looking for something else, you may try SkullCandy, Bowers-Wikins or Sennheiser but in case quality is all you want go for JBL. Audio Technica are awesome but not sure about the cheaper priced ones. I use ATH-M50 and I can't get enough of it anytime.

Yeah, I guess the JBL one is the best on my list, what about Sony, I know it's not a headphone specialist, but I heard it's quite good.

I have used only earphones made by Sony that came with the cellphones so I have no real idea of how good the Sony headphones are. If you are willing losen your pocket more, you should definitely go for AT if not, then JBL Tempo is good enough.

The AT-M50 is around 10k, whereas the JBL is around 1.5k, so JBL Tempo it is! :)

There are other AT headphones, which fall on the 1.5k price range, would they be better than JBL? @Samuels

I have not tried them buddy but AT is great in the high price range. I am not sure about how good the AT in your price range are. I only know about JBL, SkullCandy, Bowers-Wikins and Sennheiser in that range. I have tried Bose but is not as good as JBL. The bottom line is you should go for JBL or AT.

I've been using Sony MDR XB300 Archived MDR-XB300 : Extra Bass (XB) Headphones : Headphones : Sony India for the last 3 years, and the sound quality is unbelievable. The cushions have deteriorated a lot, but sound is the same. The bass is the best I've heard for a long time. I bought it in Australia for about $80, which was around Rs 4,000. I think this model has been discontinued, but they have another model which seems similar: MDR-XB400 : Extra Bass (XB) Headphones : Headphones : Sony India They would cost around Rs 1,700 (on flipkart - http://www.flipkart.com/sony-mdr-xb400-over-the-ear-headphone/p/itmdeta4hzxundbz).

I suggest if you can go to a sony store to check the quality before deciding, it would be the best way to go forward.

----------

If you're not a Bass fan, you can look at Sony MDR-ZX100/B On-the-ear Wired Headphones Price in India - Buy Sony MDR-ZX100/B On-the-ear Wired Headphones Online - Sony: Flipkart.com or Sony MDR-ZX300/N Over-the-ear Wired Headphones Price in India - Buy Sony MDR-ZX300/N Over-the-ear Wired Headphones Online - Sony: Flipkart.com but I don't have any idea about their performance.

Sorry if this is slightly deviating from the current discussion, but can someone tell me what are the best headphones for using with sleep? I have people sleeping next to me who snore, and I can't change rooms and so I need to use the headphones to listen to the White Noise app (on my iPhone; absolutely stunning app). But I currently use the JVC flat folding headphones which are light, but since I am mostly a side sleeper (and a on-hand sleeper), they hurt when I sleep that way. And I hate the in-ear earbud phones because they irritate my ears, and cause the wax in my ears to move further inside.

Looking for something that can be used well for sleep.

I use ZB-BHP15 from Zoook. It's new French company and even though there aren't many reviews out there on the internet of Zoook's products, the sound quality is absolutely splendid. Buy any headphones from Skullcandy, Sony, idance, Seenheiser or JBL, you'll end up spending money wisely.
