Hexing Up the SAV

The offset for Windies Tour is 786232.

This is the offset from which I started editing for the Border Gavaskar Trophy Sav...

well a stray remark by our fellow member Das_vicky in one of his pm's was something like "in international season EA have tried to cover a two year period with a team including tours and WC/Knockout"...

there's a hint in there abt how to break into the dates(the most imp aspect for creation of tournaments"...look for 730 days..

well fardin, to get the whole concept you will have to learn a bit abt hex...basically hex is a number system in which the base is 16, so the digits 0-9 represent the same as in decimal system but for 10-15 the representation is A-F...otherwise search for a hex tutorial somewhere on the net...what i am trying to say above is that EA has made a provision for 730 days to be identified separately with different code for each date...

vaibhav, start the hex editor, open the file thru "file" menu... and then go to the offsets described above(if u open a WC sav then go to WC offsets and likewise), it will all look like a maze of numbers but try to find decipherable team codes(listed above)...and then try some changes...

Khem Cho!!! SachingGod
Ok i'll try to follow wat u said well i have to read the tuturial tooo to understand more

0D2E 0100 0000 0000 0000 0000 0000 3200 4280 0300

Ok This is how a normal match(scheduled not yet played) string looks like. These strings start to occur successively at the offsets which have been and will be discussed in this thread.

every two characters(nibbles) here form one byte...OD is one byte 2E is another and so on...

Byte 1 - OD = India
Byte 2 - 2E = Pakistan A
Byte 3 - 01 = One Day
Byte 15,16 - 32,00 = 50 over match. 32 is hex for 50 in decimal.
Byte 17,18,19 = these control the date and the venue.
Byte 4 = the byte that stores the winner of the match(had it been played completely)
Byte 5-14 store the scores of both teams in terms of runs and wickets.

How?? that comes later.

Is is possible to change the number of overs bowled per day for a test match?

I haven't come across such a parameter till now...though we can limit the number of overs per innings in a test match...something like the first class matches in NZ...where there's a limitation to the number of overs per innings...

dude i appreciate your increasing knowledge of Gujarati and thanks for asking me. I am fine.(majama chhu). but plz lets stay on topic here...will be glad to answer if you have any query and listen if you have anything to share...

btw...i have asked this before - has anybody who has tried tweaking the sav come across a byte that controls the number of matches in a tour? in test series 785992 is the byte that controls the number of matches but in tours this info is coded somewhere else - perhaps in the gob???

sorry sachin but i am too lazy to read all the topic's that you have posted' perhaps if i will' i will not understand the concept of it' so it will be better for me to stay away from these topic's but it is far away from my knowledge'

it ain't that tough...its the easiest of all things that all the modders are doing here...though editing menu sounds is a bit easier than this...but any way its not as tough, perhaps you will understand these hex things better when u finish ur school...till then enjoy whatever we are able to provide
