How are you doing in ICC? (any version)

Bangladesh are quite an interesting team to play with.

So far it seems I struggle to beat the easier teams (West Indies, Zimbabwe), etc, but I can defeat the likes of South Africa and India.

I have to change my slip fields around, Ive signed Sean Ervine for Lancashire, he automatically fields at 1st slip, but he drops catches like Australia drop spinners

Same problem I had with Rikki Clarke :D when I started playing as Surrey. He used to stand at slip & drop around 7 out of 10 catches :D...that why I put him at long on & once a big mishit went straight to long-on and he dropped that one as well.... :p

In fact, in this game you should have a keeper & slip fielders who have safe pair of hands...as i see, most of the catches go in this area...

There's no fielding rating in ICC though, is there?

No. Would have been nice had there been such a facility. for ex, Catching ability : 1 star or 2 star means he drops too many.....3 star -> OK....5 star -> Best pair of hands...like that....

Usually we select a player based on his batting or bowling averages...but for keeper they should have done that to show how safe he is....As of now, when we select a new keeper either from youth or transfers it is just based on his batting average & we have to keep our fingers crossed when an edge happens...:p

I just use the defaults because it's too time consuming fidling about with making new ones. Takes long enough to play games without it.

You can actually see how many catches a player took in their 2nd team career, and can usually work out roughly whether they're a decent keeper or not.

Certainly could in 2005 and 2006.

Im considering starting my first ever season in charge of a Australian state team, but not sure which team to go with, my knowledge is Aus first class cricket is pretty poor.

Any suggestions? Id like a team with a couple of quality players, but needing a few more to be top dogs.

I've never played Aus Domestic on ICC, but on Cricket Coach I enjoyed playing with Queensland having no real knowledge of the Aus domestic scene.

But if the second team statistics show such stupid details.....then....:p
As I told, you have to select them by their batting average & keep fingers crossed when an edge happens....:D

WTF if the first column is matches :p

Going by that, Ames took 27 catches a match :p So the matches had to be at least 3 innings :p

Also look at that bug....Ames has scored 3977 in 17 matches :p at an average of 15 :rolleyes

This was just an example, I observed almost every team has got such players with buggy second team statistics....

The batting lineup for every game was: :spy

1. A Ames
2. A Ames
3. A Ames
4. A Ames
5. A Ames
6. A Ames
7. A Ames
8. A Ames
9. A Ames
10. A Ames
11. A Ames

Here's my squad for the 2011 World Cup:

12 players picked themselves, and six players were going for the other three positions. I went with Mansfield, Fulton, and McSkimming in the end, hopefully I won't need to play any of them.

In the team above (the blue players), I'll be bringing in Vettori or O'Brien for Mansfield, and Oram will open the batting with Weekes.

Got some brilliant stats to post up which may get English fans excited for the next decade.

James Taylor has absolutely dominated for me...he is the no.1 wicket taker in English test and ODI history, and has made over 10,000 test runs and the most runs by an Englishman in ODI's (over 7,000). Clearly the best cricketer to ever play at international level considering he will end up on 15,000 test runs and probably 700 test wickets!!!

Thats crazy for an all drounder.

Is he a regen?

:thumbs

Wonder if changing every field would stem runs down in ODIs and produce more wickets in tests? Probably so... But too time consufming changing fields constantly.

WA! Doing crap in real life, so will be a good challenge. Have a few good batsman, Michael Hussey, Adam Voges, Luke Pommersbach, Marcus North and emerging opener Wes Robinson. Mitch Marsh will develop into a batting allrounder. And WA has plenty of fast bowling options with Mitchell Johnson and co.

Cricket Coach, I remember when Simbazz convinced me to buy it. What a wawste of money tbh, good concept, great detail but just unrealisty matchplay ruined that game unfortunately
