How many matches did you see from Stands?

The best experience of my cricket watching life:
After a NZ vs SL test in Dunedin, the SL players were waiting for there bus and me and my mate were waiting for my mum. Long story Short, Murali and Vaas asked me and my mate if we wanted to play a game of cricket with them and about 8 of the SL team joined in! It was flinging amazing!!!!! I only remember Vaas, Murali, Fernando (I think) and Malinga!
Murali was one of the nicest people i've met

Friggen lucky :S

Haha, Murali was a cock to me. Gave a few of us the finger during that world XI tour when they played a practice game against VIC. Spoke to most of them though, Vettori was signing some chicks boobs while i spoke to him :p Gayle was really nice. Flintoff, bit of a ████.

I don't think anyone is going to beat this story. I get to meet the NZ and SL guys on Friday thanks to a friend at USACA, but I doubt Ill get to play cricket with them.

Did you actually play on the pitch? and did you slog and sixes?:D

No, it was on the number 2 ground out the back of the uni - oval.

And nah I was just hitting it to the players off Vaas and Fernando bowling.
And then Murali was giving me and my mate fielding practice :laugh.

TBH there bus was pretty late. My mates dad is the head groundsman and we helped him out for a couple of hours before there bus arrived.

Oh, Murali didn't play during that test, and when he was bowling in the nets during one of the days play, I built the courage to ask if I could face him. The coach said "I'll have to ask him after we train so come back later". I went back, he said yes, and a line of about 50 people grew just to face Murali for one ball! :laugh
The coach told us to watch our knees, and yes, I'm lucky I did as I'd never faced a ball spin so much!

i remember going to the 5th day of a NZ-ENG draw on a School Trip, i think Oram hit 100 but i also remember the teachers making us leave just as McCullum came in. It was a good day, i've got the boundary cards signed by Vettori, McCullum, Styris, Oram etc. and i've got another signed by every England player there that day, most of us gave up on the cricket and went to the nursery ground.

I went to the Oval last year for the SA-SCO and ENG-PAK games during the World Cup, AB de Villiers hit 70-odd i think, and South Africa scored close to 200 i think, I also remember Kyle Coetzer taking an amazing catch on the boundary, i think it won catch of the tournament. The England match that day was very funny indeed, I'd gone with a few of my mates from my local club, and a couple of rows in front were a couple of cocky Pakistani fans, who were giving it all of there chants, however they were surrounded by loads of England fans, and when Pietersen reached his 50 they went quiet.

Another thing that happened that day was that during the Warm-ups, Bopara, Wright and Pietersen all came over and were whacking throw downs into a net right in front of our stand. I went down to the front just as they were finishing with a pen and got them to sign my shirt, so I now have an England shirt signed by the three of them.

I've also been to countless Middlesex matches, most of them at one of their outgrounds which is just down the road in Uxbridge. The most memorable of those days at Uxbridge was the day after Collingwood got dropped from the England team, so he met up with the durham team and played at uxbridge that day, him and Shiv Chanderpaul put on about 80.

I look forward to going to Middlesex for the T20 this summer, we've got Gilly and Warner coming to play for us.

Here's that Coetzer catch

You're great Cricketman. You got chance to talk to players in local language.

Yeah, I'm lucky that I know a few Indian languages. At the India vs NSW game we were just waiting near the nets (watching Sachin etc bat) and they were all walking off. Tendulkar was injured so he was eager to get back but my mom yelled to him in Marathi and he made a straight U-turn just to come back and sign an autograph for me. I was like 5 or 6 years old and simply stunned. Kapil Dev was the coach and he was amazingly nice as well. I was so stoked because Sachin and Kapil both said my name, and I said 'Ma, Sachin said my name!!' He went on to repeat it a few times which was nice. :D:p

Harbhajan Singh was the 12th man then and was carrying a crapload of luggage. We were the only people to ask for his Autograph, he was really touched. This was back when he was actually a really quiet and nice guy.
