That depends on if they can sustain the viewership of non-traditional cricket countries. Soccer/football has survived because it is so heavily rooted in Europe (even if the US doesn't follow it) but apart from England, there are no major cricket cultures in Europe/North America.

Did anyone have a look at the new FTP ?
It's really stupid.
India will only play host to Australia,England,Pakistan,Zimbabwe and Bangladesh
Sa will be hosted once till 2012
Whereas NZ & WI will not come to India.
India will also not tour Zim and Ban during this period.

Does'nt make sense to me

ICC Champions Trophy 2002 - Sri Lanka (Asia)
ICC Champions Trophy 2004 - England (Europe)
ICC Champions Trophy 2006 - India (Asia)
ICC Champions Trophy 2008 - Pakistan (Asia)

Soo many in Asia? Why not one of them in Australia or SA?
I agree, it seems we are being compensated for losing the 2011 World Cup by gaining the Women's World Cup, and South Africa at least have the Twenty20 World Championship, so I find it strange that Australia didn't at least get an upcoming Champions Trophy, or even the next Twenty20 Cup, ahead of England.

True,I thought either New Zealand or Australia would get to host the 2008 Champions Trophy.
Well, maybe the ICC justification was - Super Series was played in Australia.
Yeah,whatever,it's a stupid reason.

Possibly because the Champions Trophy seems to be more popular in Asia than it is elsewhere with a lot of the other countries seeing it more as a money making scheme that a truely important tournament.

Well its high time the ICC answers one question.

Whether they want money or crowds .
Just the other day,Malcolm Speed was all round the place saying that flexing the financial muscle is not goin to help anymore.

I think they want crowds with money.

well that would be the ultimate gain.
However, with matches like Bangladesh v Zimbabve, they are not going to get any revenue.
Neither would they with non-host matches [esp in the subcontinent].

The only way they can do this is to host matches in countries like Malaysia,Canada,Singapore.
This would not only aid their economies, but would also help in revenue generation for the ICC.

I cant sayi anything about the ICC having CHamps trophies in Asia. As we saw from this years tournament its definetly not because of crowds.

As for cricket in all these other countries, I dont know why people are surprised that so many countries have teams. All you need to do is read the Cricinfo Column "Beyond the Test World". They talk about all these countries.

I expect cricket to become much bigger in those countries in the next decade considering the deal which the ICC got for the TV rights. Lets hope it all happens. Then maybe by the 2015 or 2019 world cup we could see some quality One Day cricket from the top 12-16 teams rather than the top 8-9 teams in the world.

Or better yet, read some sites that actually care about non-test cricket. See my sig for further details....

Yes, but they don't host anything by themselves.

Probably for a couple of reasons:

To smaller country and not enough grounds to hold a World Cup etc.
