His solution is like the one I support. Merge T20s and ODIs into a 40 over game for international cricket, and make T20 a domestic only format. That way you don't need to extend every international tour by a week to include 2-3 useless T20Is. Would save you a month every year for each team (as they probably do 4 series per year). That's extra time to play domestic cricket or to rest up for international series.

Would be interesting to see the non-rich boards do something about it eg. Sri Lanka were talking about picking a specialist T20I team, led by Angelo Mathews but being predominantly filled with guys who AREN'T playing the other formats. I'd love to see other countries do that as a protest against the international scheduling, and as a slight against the quality of T20Is.

I hear you my friend. But i don't think such a drastic measure needs to be taken. Plus i don't think you really can question the standard of T20I's after such a high quality world tournament in sri lanka.

I believe test, 50 overs & t20i can co-exists in the international calendar quite easily. The problem AFAIS is just controlling the amount of outside T20 leagues, the IPL and creating a fairer FTP test programme for all the test nations.

Its suppose to be independent with no conflict of interest. That means they must have a head quarters preferably in England somewhere where they work from and analyze games that have been played looking ways to take cricket forward.

Criticism of the BCCI power in world cricket, picking up good steam recently with two great articles on cricinfo in recent weeks. Just wish for the people of real power in world cricket to stand up to these clowns & get the administrative side of our beautiful game in order.

Deep down i fear this may be the case already, given that cricket administrators have already fell into a black hole which they can't get out. But we can't give up hope, since once FIFA when England had total control of it, acted in a similar fashion before being cleaned up structurally.

I also sympathise with him about DRS, it does have some problems. But I think those problems would get solved sooner if India joined in the movement towards technology - not blindly accepting it, but at least being constructive in it's criticism, rather than just saying anything less than 100% is useless.

Now reading the full interview, the things he said about ranji trophy and development in india is pretty much what you would expect him to say as the BCCI head.

Otherwise when pressed on the drs, bcci bullying, role of bcci in world cricket, the ridiculous bcci position on tv rights which has forced england fans skysports coverage to not have the commentary team on the ground in india is very evasive and illogical.

The BCCI position on drs is indefensible. No one cares if the BCCI only doesn't think the technology is perfect. Majority rules - so he should shut his trap. The fact that he can say that it doesn't bother him that cricket records are being constantly disrespected by one series being played without drs and one with drs - is an appalling statement.

In FIFA currently goal-line technology is coming & uefa president michel platini always likes to talk crap about the his mistrust of technology. UEFA is the BCCI of football when it comes to financial power - but when goal-line technology comes in - everywhere in uefa will use because FIFA is boss.

As we all know in cricket BCCI is boss over ICC, so that's why they have been able to oppose drs. A strong ICC would have made them use it. Its a hot mess.

EPIC FAIL. The ICC must think the entire cricket world is dumb. Its become scary how horrifically lame duck the ICC is & how strong the BCCI influence has become. A tipping point is going to come soon to the detriment of cricket in some sense.

One again the lawless BCCI flexes its stinking muscle. May was one of the few men with any clout in world cricket who spoke out well against Indian's obscene influence in world cricket & spoke of ways to eradicate it. So basically if one reads between the lines, this is just the BCCI way of getting back at & getting rid of one of their biggest dissenters.

Cricket needs a journalist like Andrew Jennings who has had FIFA corrupt officials tight over the last 30 years, to put the BCCI feet to fire. India getting away with murder every month & the entire cricket world just taking their money & shutting up like true pussies..
