Australia have capitulated in the last 25 overs of the 2nd ODI, going from 101-2 to 154 all out, despite a battling 50 from Damien Martyn. The first 3 overs after the 25 over point were all miadens, and in the 33rd Ponting misjudged a Murali doosra to get caught at square leg for 19. Then Symonds went for 0 edging a good delivery from Flintoff into the hands of Dhoni. Hussey went in the 38th over caught by Ntini off a ripper from Shahid Afridi, who got Clarke caught by Ntini again two balls later. Warne got a duck aswell, picking out fine leg off Afridi. Lee went next over for just two edging another good delivery from Flintoff to Dhoni. 2 overs later Damien Martyn brought up a superb battling 50 with wickets tumbling around him. Then he went them same way as Lee edging Flintoff to Dhoni. Glenn McGrath got the 4th duck of the Australian innings, bowled by Murali.
Good work by Afridi. Here's hoping he can perform with the bat as well! It's a reasonably low total to chase down, but the World XI must be careful not to get ahead of themselves.
The World XI have smashed Australia in the second ODI at Bloemfontein by 8 wickets in just 20 overs. Australia started off well with Glenn McGrath picking up Sehwag and Smith early on, both edged behind to Gilchrist. With KP and Inzi at the crease, things started happening for the World XI. Bracken was hit for 77 in 7 overs, and McGrath went at 5? over aswell. They hit the bad balls for four and got one and twos off the good balls, securing the win with a smashed 4 over midwicket off Warne. Inzi picked up off his fifty off just 36 balls, with KP's off just 39.
