West Indies is not lucky for us at all. Last time, we had that inglorious exit and we have rarely done well while we have toured the Carribean. The wickets have slowed down, but still we havent picked up greatly.

:):)Bhajji, Yuvraj and Jadeja from India. Afridi and Ajmal from Pakistan will be the key. I dont think this world cup will be as bad as the last world cup in West Indies for both india and pakistan.

But Afghanistan will be playing against India and Pakistan will be playing against Bangladesh on the same day. Just like India vs Bangladesh and Pakistan vs Ireland was on the same day. :facepalm

Yea the form Irfan Pathan has been in, I'd have him in the squad at least. He can play as either a bowler or batter would probably play as a bowler with the strength of the Indian batting.

they left out JS over that slow ass Kayes? are you joking me!! JS came to internation cricket with T20. He was picked as a T20 specialist

Brett Lee called for international return | Cricket News | ICC World Twenty20 2010 | Cricinfo.com

Bing Lee's back baby

Ryan Harris was left out of the squad - unlucky. People will complain that Lee got Harris' spot, but I would have taken Harris instead of Dan Christian. We don't need another fricken allrounder. Because it looks like the typical Aussie lineup will have Steve Smith way down at #8 - one of the form batsmen in the country, could have easily been picked at #6 for the NZ Tests, but no we don't have enough depth to bat for 20 OVERS so we need Smith at #8... It's probably Christian v M.Hussey for the #7 spot. Unless the selectors see sense and move Smith up to #7 to let us play and extra bowler. Johnson, Hauritz and Lee can all bat, having them at #8 and 9 in a 20 over match should be fine.

Projected team (not my choice, but what you'll probably see):
Watson
Warner
Clarke
White
D.Hussey
Haddin
Christian/M.Hussey
Smith
Johnson
Nannes
Tait
I'd play Smith and 7 and include Hauritz/Lee at #9, giving you 4 specialist bowling options plus Smith and Watson.

There'll be skeptics at Lee's inclusion in the 15, but I think he's worth a punt on. I mean he was fantastic in the Champions League not 6 months ago. But he'll need to regain some form in the IPL before he cracks the XI I'd say.

Can't really complain about that side, had to bring Lee over so that we could unleash the awesome 4 but as Jason mentioned he needs to regain his form soon.
What I'd go with
Watson
Warner
Clarke
White
D.Hussey
Haddin
Smith
Lee
Johnson
Nannes
Tait

With Clarke bowling again, Dussey likewise we have 3 spinners and 5 seamers to fill the 20 overs.

I can't believe Hauritz is in the squad :facepalm he is terrible at limited overs and gets belted all the time. we have S.Smith, D.Hussey and M.Clarke who can all do the spinner's role.

The should've gone for Harris instead of Hauritz.

New Zealand have released their squad but have a 7 men on standby due to injury concerns New Zealand cover all bases for World Twenty20 | Cricket News | ICC World Twenty20 2010 | Cricinfo.com

New Zealand squad Brendon McCullum, Jesse Ryder, Martin Guptill, Ross Taylor, Scott Styris, Aaron Redmond, Jacob Oram, Gareth Hopkins (wk), Daniel Vettori (capt), Rob Nicol, Nathan McCullum, Kyle Mills, Tim Southee, Shane Bond, Ian Butler.

Rob Nicol is a nice surprise in the squad, the only person I don't like there is Butler. He always gets smacked around. I would have thought Shanan Stewart was higher up the order than Nicol but maybe they see Nicol as offering more in T20s, especially with his part time offspin.

Yeah, he's worth a punt, but based on what I've seen, he has to improve. Currently he just doesn't look right, he's only bowling about 135-140 kph and it's a rusty 140 at that.

England squad's been announced. Prior's finally been dropped from Limited Overs cricket, with Kieswetter picked as the only keeper. Michael Yardy gets in the squad, as do Ravi Bopara and Ajmal Shahzad. Interesting to see Ravi get in the squad. Can't say he's done much to deserve getting back in (especially ahead of Jonathan Trott), but I'm not too fussed as I <3 abit of Ravi. So, to confirm the XV is:

Craig Kieswetter
Michael Lumb
Kevin Pietersen
Paul Collingwood
Eoin Morgan
Michael Yardy
Luke Wright
Graeme Swann
Tim Bresnan
Stuart Broad
James Anderson

Ajmal Shahzad
Ravi Bopara
Ryan Sidebottom
James Tredwell

Incredible that Jonathan Trott fails to make that side. He made 500 runs in the T20 Cup last year, and although he's struggled in T20's for England he is surely a better option than Ravi? Very strange, seems the selectors don't like the bloke in Limited Overs cricket, despite being one of the best batsmen in England. Still think Napier should be picked ahead of Shahzad too.

Hmm, somehow I don't see the selectors going with four bowlers and Smith.

I hope Rob Nicol gets a chance and good to see Ryder's back. McCullum's a dick for giving up the gloves, now we have to have shitty useless Gareth Hopkins in the team.

Drop Shahzad. He's useless. Don't see what the selectors see in him tbh. He hasn't got any real pace and his batting isn't anything special (going by his domestic record since he hasn't batted for England yet).

No space for Ravi? He's a pretty decent T20 batsman. Also, don't you think England will open with Luke Wright? They did last time and he looked good at times.
