Up Next: Squads for groups C and D and tournament preview.

It is nice to see van der Merwe back into the twenty20 squad for South Africa. I feel his selection was justified by his impressive performance with bat and ball for Somerset, during the Champions League. The Indian side looks a young one, and will benefit from the inclusion of the experienced Zaheer Khan.

One tip i would say, is to include a brief description of the sides. This could include (T20 World Cup form, key players etc...)

No Yuvi in the Indian side?
Indian team has much potential to win it.

For some strange reasons, India is looking "picture perfect" squad for me!
I still find it shocking to see Hashim Amla getting captaincy ahead of Botha:eek:!

Hmm, interesting to see Clarke and Haddin coming out of retirement for the tournament. CA must really be concerned with t20 cricket. It should make for an exciting tournament though.

Yes, it will come. But, in tournament preview.

No Yuvi in the Indian side?
He is there.

We're stunned as well. All of that and more to come when the preview is up.

Absolutely! I think this is the best time for them both to hit back hard. But, will get back to you later on gathering some more insight.

Wow! Thats a good Indian side man. I always thought Rayudu should get a chance in the team. Virat was a surprise exclusion though. Lets see how good Yusuf Pathan and Jadeja perform.

Also glad to see Gayle and Dwayne Bravo back in WI squad. Missing Fidel Edwards though.

Nice Story Will Surely Follow This

sorry man a little bit correction in the afghanistan logo
its Afghanistan cricket board ACB not ACF thanks

Very interested with the Pakistan side that has been picked. I am absoloutely delighted to see Imran Nazir back in Pakistani colours. I feel that his aggressive nature of batting, will fit this format. That said, I feel Asad Shafiq should have been dropped, as i feel he is not suited to this format. In his place, i would have decided to include Shahid Yousuf, due to his fair form in the two T20 tournaments back home.

Preview

The forth edition of ICC World Twenty20 is about to begin in UAE and the excitement can already be seen. Most of the games will feature packed stadiums from what we have heard. ICC has seen this tournament as a way to promote Cricket in areas where it is lesser known and the response so far has been pleasing.

Coming to the teams, each and every outfit looks like they can make it count. Even the minnows can spring in a surprise, such is the format. Group D is tagged as the 'group of death' by the Cricket pundits with Bangladesh in there alongside Pakistan and the defending champions England. Group C has to be the most unpredictable one given how Sri Lanka and New Zealand have been performing. So, there's a real chance for Afghanistan to sneak in. Groups A and B look alright and many might already believe they know who the top two are going to be from these groups. Unless of course, one or both of Netherlands and Zimbabwe could prove us wrong!

Arch-rivals India and Pakistan have been tagged as favorites to go on and win this trophy. Many believe Indian squad couldn't have been any better while some still find it interesting why Kohli wasn't included. All in all, it looks really strong batting wise. Bowling attack is a young one with Yadav and Aaron but, they do have a certain gentleman called Zaheer Khan to lead them. Plus, there's variety in spin bowling with Ashwin and Ojha. Pakistan's strength has always been their bowling. But, it looks a pretty good unit overall. Inclusion of Nazir may well have come as a surprise but, many believe it's a good decision. All rounders in Afridi and Hafeez and a good bowling unit means, there's much to look forward to from a Pakistani fan's point of view.

Below are the players who we think will have to come good for their respective teams to go the distance in this tournament.
