ICCCT2006: SCMODS' assesment of every teams chances

He isn't a mindless slogger. He has a special skill, a gift. No one else in the world can hit like Afridi. Just saying that anyone can slog across the line and make runs is foolhardy.
Being able to slog and get away with it more than most makes him not a slogger? I'm failing to see your logic there

I can't believe what i'm reading here. Jayasuriya, Sehwag and Gilly are as inconsistent as Afridi? Tell that to their averages.

Afridi is nothing but a mindless slogger and it's a shame that Pakistan pick him as an allrounder or a batsman because he's actually a half-decent bowler.

Scoring the fastest ever ODI century means nothing; It was just his day when all of his mindless swipes across the line payed off and he has failed to do that repeatedly which is why he is the biggest liability in the Pakistan team.
No I'm not saying his insconistent AS those Im saying that those players are also.

Kevin Pietersen is kinda the same for England, but he doesnt take the risks which Afridi does.

What a ridiculous thing to say. KP is twice the batsman Afridi is. Afridi slogs from ball one wheras KP dominates the bowlers and then plays the big shots when he has his eye in. I suggest you watch Kevin Pietersen and Shahid Afridi a bit more before spouting such utter drivvel.

KP is a hack and you know it :p He will TRY to dominate the bowlers but when that fails (most the time) he will have a good ole hack to the legside and get out.

I wasn't praising KP or trying to hype him up, i'm just saying that he is completley different to Afridi, i.e, he isn't completley mindless.

haha, i said they were similar players in the team.

Pakistans go to man in the batting is Afridi and Englands is KP or Flintoff, but Flintoff in at 3 suggests they want a quick scoring rate not smacking sixes as KP does.

And my quote was;

Kevin Pietersen is kinda the same for England, but he doesnt take the risks which Afridi does.

To me that suggests that KP does the same for England as Afridi does for Pakistan.

I was not comparing there playing technique in anyway as you thought i was by saying,

slogs from ball one wheras KP dominates the bowlers and then plays the big shots when he has his eye in

Afridi is a out and out slogger who wants a 6 every ball, wereas KP is more of a player who wants to get his runs over a run a ball, Afridi would rather smack 100 off 20 balls

England's go to man of recent times has turned out to be Paul Collingwood because we keep collapsing all the goddamn time.

I suggest you understand what im saying here. All the hype is on KP all the time and usually he delivers. Paul Collingwood is the type of player who goes out to keep the board moving over wereas KP is a little bit differnt in the way he will take a few risks

I suggest that you understand what a joke is Simon. KP is our go to man, the fact that you actually think that i'm seriously calling Colingwood our go to man suggests that you need to develop a sense of humour. Colly is more of a crisis man and he's been saving England far too often in recent times.

Somthing to do with that tells me you were implying he is Englands go to man.

And i have a sense of humour but i save it for them who dont type out the most stupid posts when you havnt even read the point properly.

oh yeh they are two different players but neither of them have a cricketing brain cell in their body when their side is in strife.

Nice post 1,enjoyed the way it was written as well.

This would me my pick(updated) on the teams chances of winning this tournament.

Australia>India>SriLanka>SouthAfrica>NewZealand>WestIndies>Pakistan>England.

I would of thought Pakistan would be favourites if they didn't lose asif / akhtar!

I repeat; Learn what a joke is.

They would probably have been up there behind Australia.Even then though I would never put my money on them(or India for that matter) as you never know what performance they would turn up with on a certain day.
