Imtiaz Patel - New CEO of the ICC

Imtiaz Patel, chief executive of Supersport, the South African broadcast network, will succeed Malcolm Speed as the ICC's chief executive when he steps down in June. The ICC executive board, which met in Dubai on Monday, also named IS Bindra, the former president of the Indian board, as principal advisor, a new role.

It is surprising that a very few ppl have commented on this-virtually none.
I'm happy that an Indian has got the position.Imtiaz looks young and pretty dynamic too. Hopefuly he can better Speed.

You are getting me wrong.
Imtiaz Patel is a South-African of Indian Origin. He never had the BCCI backing. In fact the only other candidate for the CEO's post was IS Bindra. But considering his age-65 as seeing as UAE does not encourage workers above age 60,he was sidelined inot an 'advisor' post.
I'm happy with Imtiaz's appointment,though i feel that Lalit Modi or even Rameez Raza could have held the post well.
