Indian Domestic Cricket

Badrinath all set to close his cricketing chapter, with retirement from first class cricket
https://circleofcricket.com/categor...etire-from-first-class-cricket-after-ipl-2018

How sad! He was Mr. Dependable in the domestic circuit, and was constantly called as the guy 'who never was given a serious opportunity in the national side'. A few chances he was given, he did show that he can be reliable and yet, he was discarded for the more flashier players. While he was with CSK, he was super reliable and quietly did his job while his flashier counterparts ran away with a lot of accolades.

Hope you have a great life post the cricket, Badri! I wish you had gotten better luck than what you got!

Seriously I wish he was persisted with more in Test cricket when they were trying guys like Yuvraj, Raina, Sharma and all. This guy could have had an amazing Test career but it wasn't to be.

Raina and Rohit starts with century In their first two test, not sure of Suresh R, but yes they not establish because of their care- less -ness.

Parthiv, Fazal and Mukund to lead in Duleep Trophy
July 23 2018

prv_1532365824.jpeg

Parthiv will lead the India Green side.

Faiz Fazal, Abhinav Mukund and Parthiv Patel have been named captains for the three-team Duleep Trophy 2018. They will be leading India Blue, India Red and India Green respectively in the four-dayers, which is set to begin on August 17.

The triangular tournament will continue to be played in the day-night format, with the pink-ball experiment on. All the three league games and the final will be played at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. India Red will face India Green in the tournament opener starting August 17, and will face India Blue in their next encounter on August 23. The last league game will be played from August 29, between India Green and India Blue. All the matches will start at 1:30 PM IST.

Quite surprisingly, the selectors named the suspended Punjab wicketkeeper-batsman Abhishek Gupta in the India Red squad initially, before naming Akshay Wadkar as the replacement*. The BCCI had earlier handed Gupta a provisional suspension for doping violation as a result of which he was considered ineligible to play until September 14, 2018. The tournament is scheduled to end on September 8, 2018.

With a quadrangular series set to be played alongside between India A, India B, South Africa A and Australia A, several top domestic players are set to miss the competition, apart from the Test players who will be in England. The likes of KS Bharat, Ankit Rajpoot, Rajneesh Gurbani and Shahbaz Nadeem, who will be a part of India A's squad for a four-dayer against South Africa, will join their respective squads for the Duleep Trophy.

Squads:

India Blue: Faiz Fazal (Captain), Abhishek Raman, Anmolpreet Singh, Ganesh Satish, N. Gangta, Dhruv Shorey, K.S. Bharat (WK), Akshay Wakhare, Saurav Kumar, Swapnil Singh, Basil Thampi, B Ayappa, Jaydev Unadkat, Dhawal Kulkarni

India Red: Abhinav Mukund (Captain), R.R. Sanjay, Ashutosh Singh, Baba Aparajith, Writtick Chatterjee, B. Sandeep, Abhishek Gupta (WK), S Nadeem, Mihir Hirwani, Parvez Rasool, R Gurbani, A Mithun, Ishan Porel, Y. Prithvi Raj

India Green: Parthiv Patel (Captain & WK), Prashant Chopra, Priyank Panchal, Sudeep Chatterjee, Gurkeerat Mann, Baba Indrajit, V.P. Solanki, Jalaj Saxena, Karn Sharma, Vikas Mishra, K. Vignesh, Ankit Rajpoot, Ashok Dinda, Atith Sheth
